At least someone found out about the proposed laws by your prime minister and there's a lot of hot debate going on about it... Over here, we had similar laws implemented after an incident in 1969 to "maintain inter-racial harmony", and it's been quiet ever since. The law's still in effect (even though the circumstances that triggered it have long blown over)... And no one can talk frankly about anything coz many issues are labelled as potentially socially destabilising and hence people are afraid of being arrested (and possibly jailed without trial at our King's [dis]pleasure for up to 2 years :rolleyes:) Everyone is very careful about mentioning 'sensitive' issues coz they could suddenly disappear off the streets. So don't worry about rattling... You should be angry, and more importantly, alarmed. It'd be a shame if Australia implemented similar 'anti-terrorism' laws like us... It has hampered our leaders' ability to discuss issues and affected our country's ability to deal with problems. I say go make as much noise about it as you can before it's too late. There may be no turning back.

He was dead-on, and the whole audience was laughing their asses off... so I figure they must be pretty acquainted with the show to be laughing like that :) I'm sure I'll like the comedy. I love the way you Aussies straight-talk, even all the way down to your politicians. You guys really tell it like it is, and give it back good too... I was clicking your siggy's links and found a site with loads of music on it... But it made no direct reference as to who the artist was... I didn't know whether that was you or whether it was just an artist whom you thought had interesting music worth listening to... I mean the musings there are beautiful, in the 'Don't Panic' sort of way (if it makes sense). And I did want to check out how the music is (except it's all in mp3 which I can't access)... It's interesting to me that there're serious musicians out there who sort of 'hang-out' in places like this board :) As for the topic of CP confessions, mine would be I still think the Hardest Part's a brill song though I still can't dig SITS... And oh, yeah, I used to totally hate Fix You and thought it was lousy :o And berrywoman, how could you not like 'Green Eyes'??? :stunned:

Thanks a bunch for the offer (of sending the CD), but I think you'll find the destination a bit far :P I'm half the world away (my time zone's exactly 12 hours difference from NY) :lol: I can download anything that's not mp3 (I know, I know, that's total crap anyway :( )... But if you don't mind the trouble, I guess u could rapidshare some files :P There's no need to convert, coz any 'zipping' program is alright... So winzip / .rar files are good even if they're mp3's. Of course, AAC, windows media, real media are all ok :D

^ You won't spot the difference right away, but if you listen closely, you'll find that the songs have more 'focus', i.e. parts that are supposed to sound loud are loud, parts that are supposed to be emotional sound emotional- unlike the mish-mash of confusion / misdirection that is the rest of the album. For example, Square One is a gem of a song, but listening to it, you get deflated instead of being uplifted as you so hope to be when Jonny's loud guitar comes in... Same thing for A Message and Low.
