Well that was amazing!!!! Best TV performance in ages ohmygod!!! It's usually their weak spot but this is was perfect!!!!!! Amazing mix, great to hear Jonny so well (and his presence on stage!!! ). As we all suspected the live version is truly going to rock our worlds The set looks fabulous as well, planets laser and graffiti, it's MX in space and i'm all for it why the hell not Seems there are lots of album related clues to decipher, looking forward to seeing the theories in the LP9 thread! Will & Guy confirmed on the interview below that Higher Power was partly recorded in Berlin last year! I assume the same studio where they performed that one legendary set live on IG!

I personally think Blinding Lights and Save Your tears are excellent songs so that m.o. seems to be working well for all parties involved! Also Chris sounds really, really, really excited about working with Max Martin (and not because of his status), so it's probably been quite a creative time for them. Conventional doesn't necessarily mean in terms of music genre... So far they've launched their hit song from space, invented a whole ass world and language and are working on a more environmentally friendly tour.... It's not exactly conventional Also we know nothing as to what the album is going to sound like. Apparently there will be lots of collaborations (maybe like in EL), which can lead to rather unconventional results! It could be but there is no way of knowing. My point was that Coldplay has not admitted publicly to even be working on an album at all. Chris only accidentally confirmed that Higher Power is part of the next album.

By the way I didn't see the link here so i'm posting it just in case! Here's an example of a playlist that's made to help get these numbers up on Spotify! A few rules to follow so that your streams are actually counted by Spotify (they easily assume you're a bot otherwise): 1) Don't loop the playlist [let another song play before starting the playlist again] 2) Skip 3 songs per hour [not Higher Power ofc] 3) Turn off autoplay to avoid random songs popping up [HOME > SETTINGS > PLAYBACK] You can make your own playlist with other songs as fillers and respect the same rules! Let's go!

Here's Chris addressing their current plans regarding touring and the environment. You can hear more details in the full interview on youtube (which i recommend to watch because it's a great one on all topics) I can already hear people complain about the next tour not being 100% positive for the planet etc etc. Clearly they can't do miracles and he really admits that. They're working at improving, seriously, but they do want a big tour. Also they're really the biggest band that's actually working on these issues, they are likely to be precursors in the industry. Maybe some of their solutions won't be perfect, but the point is also to inspire other bands and artists to follow and that's definitely what will happen (i hope!).

So far what i'm gathering: - Chris eventually admitted that yes they are working on an album (on most interviews he tried to make it sound like there was nothing specific going on lol) - The concept around the album involves several planets, he mentions "Kaotica and its surrounding planets". A lot of it is a metaphor for Earth, so we can expect political messages as in the AHFOD/Kaleidoscope era. - Max Martin is the main producer confirmed so far. He seems to be heavily involved in the album (see the Zane Lowe interview). They're probably working with other folks as well but he's the only one mentioned in the interviews. - Video for Higher Power coming sometime in early June probably (Chris said it's coming out in about a month) - They were very careful not to reveal anything at all about the album so it's hard to have anything else. However I have not watched the Will & Guy interview yet, maybe there's something there.

I do think there's a big difference in the fact that, according to interviews, Chris and Max have actually been friends and trying to work together for several years. So i don't think it's necessarily the same dynamic as with Stargate.

Good spot! Definitely a familiar theme for Coldplay to explore so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. In the many interviews we've seen today, and in the launch video with Thomas Pesquet ( ) , Chris says that they're using other planets as an allegory for what's happening on Earth. So yeah it all makes sense.

Higher. Power. wow. What a song What an amazing anthem - my favourite since ETIAW, and that's by far one of their bests. There are SO MANY moments in this 3:31 song, it's hard to choose which one is the best and that's what makes this song so addictive! One moment you think this is epic and then bam it changes for another cool moment and it goes on and on until the end! I do think the outro is my favourite part tho. Overall, the song is perfectly tailored to Chris' voice. The bass in insane. And ohboy ohboy how will it sound live i wonder Max Martin did a splendid job. Coldplay are the most successful band in the world and working with the most successful producer in the world is actually bringing them even more success on this one at least! It sounds like a Coldplay song but the culmination of their career. As Zane Lowe said it well in that interview, if that song had been released maybe 4 or 8 years ago it wouldn't have made sense. But Higher Power now makes sense as a Coldplay song, as the culmination of a journey that blends music genres and embraces pop music at its best. It's wonderful to hear them get to that point, where they just embrace the song that comes to them. Freedom does wonder on Coldplay. It did with EL and i feel it's going well for MOTS as well!!! I am so excited for what's to come!!! anyway let's get this song to the top of the charts folks

Will they tour again ? Yes. The message during EL was that they did not want to tour that album and especially they wanted to reconsider the way that they organize their tours, over environmental concerns. They will definitely tour again. Now I'm not sure they're going to deliver so well on their environmental promises given that the Xylobands seem to be potentially making a comeback (based on Xylobands social media), but we'll see! They clearly intend to have a big tour for LP9 so it will be interesting to see what they change or implement during that tour.

So i already love the song despite only hearing that 25 second snippet....it's been stuck in my head. It's brilliant. I'm biased because I myself am an absolute fan of HLH and Birds so obviously this is another win for me I can't wait to hear the full song on Friday and I'm really rooting for it to take over the world If this one doesn't, then what would??????

So to amend my previous theory - each symbol represents a song - each sphere represents a release. They'll definitely be the artwork for the discs of the CDs and vinyls.

Being hardcore fans, so close to them, we sometimes tend to forget the scale of Coldplay's success. Coldplay were one of the biggest bands in the world in the late 2000s and definitely achieved that status in the 2010s. So it's safer to assume that the most successful producers in the world want to work with them, rather than having these producers being imposed on them. Coldplay have never hidden their ambitions for songs that work well commercially - otherwise they would have never kept Paradise - and they have always been honest about how they want to stay relevant with the current music scene. They do it because they want to. And when they don't want to, they don't do it (GS, EL). For sure this pleases the labels, but the band clearly do whatever they want to do. With the state of the music industry these days, Parlophone/Atlantic are very lucky to have them and each party knows that.

The band just spent 2 years i think (or at least what feels like 2 years ) in a giant legal battle to be able to use MOTS on all sorts of merch and content. I believe that it has to be the album, or if it's not the album, then it's the tour. But Coldplay name their tour after their album....So it's gotta be it. Clearly they have extremely high expectations for Higher Power and they want to use it as much as possible, hence all the merch.

To come back to the symbols theory, I now fully buy into one of the early theories, which is that they represent the singles. I believe 4 symbols represent the singles and 1 the album. Firstly, they are pretty much the only aspect of this whole concept that we haven't really cracked. The codes we deciphered, the signals and messages...all of them referred either to Higher Power or to the Coldplay universe, so we had the necessary context and keys to understand. But we haven't been able to crack the symbols properly. That must be because we don't have the elements to read them properly, meaning that this is about future, not past content. Then, the symbols are shown in different orders. But that could mean either order on the tracklist or in order of release, so it makes sense to have them appear in different orders. Now as for the specific symbols: - The spiral, as user @CP-EST has pointed out, could actually refer to the notion of a higher power. This signal is at the bottom of the 5 symbols list on the single cover art (suggesting it's the first single?) - The atoms, the infinity sign, the triangles : 3 other singles. - The sparks : the sparks have appeared in different ways on the content we have seen. But what's interesting is that the spark/star appears separate from the rest on the alienradio website. Like it's a different link than the 4 other ones. This leads me to be believe it could perhaps symbolize the album. Also on the single cover art, it's at the top of the list! Anyway, probably stating the obvious but i feel i can see more clearly now
