Who, where, what and anything else...
- I'm Ryan. - I come from a small town called Baldock, in Hertfordshire in the UK. - I'm currently living in Leicester. I go to DeMontfort University, and I'm studying for a B.A.(Hons) in 'Music Technology and Innovation'. - I listen to Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, BRMC, Oasis, The Cooper Temple Clause, Sigur Ros, The Mars Volta, Coldplay, The Strokes and plenty more. - I play the guitar religiously, and I can sing. - That's me in my avatar, that is. - I like bread. - I've got legs.

Is it possible to connect a guitar directly to a PC?
The best way to do it is to simply mic up your amp. But for this you'll need a mixer or pre-amp. Then connect the output of the mixer to the line-in of your soundcard. The next best thing would be to use the output from your amp, or a DI box. You shouldn't just go straight from your guitar output into the soundcard, because a dry guitar signal is not at line level, which is what you really need for a good quality recording. It will work, but the quality will be horrible. The best soundcard for the price is the M-Audio Audiophile 24/96. It's only about 70 quid, but it's a seriously good quality card. http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_gb/Audiophile2496-main.html Sound Blasters aren't too great for recording. They're okay, but they're for made for gamers first and musicians second.

The Secret Machines
The song 'Now Here Is Nowhere' is absolutely brilliant. I have the one track promo for it. And I've downloaded the first two songs off the album, and they're both pretty good. They sound a bit like B.R.M.C to me, with a bit of Cooper Temple Clause in places

Fargo 7/10 Not sure what to make of it really. It was a very good movie, but it somehow feels like it was left a little unfinished. Perhaps I'll enjoy it more when I watch it a second time. Amelie 8/10 Brilliant.

Lyrics
Radiohead - Cuttooth I would lead a wallpaper life Or run away to the foreign legion I would lead the wallpaper life Or run away to the foreign legion As the tanks roll into town As the tanks roll into town A little bit of knowledge will destroy you A little bit of knowledge will destroy you As the tanks roll into town As the tanks roll into town A little bit of knowledge will destroy you A little bit of knowledge will destroy you I dont know why I feel so tongue-tied I dont know why I feel so skinned alive Run until your lungs are sore Until you cannot feel it anymore Run until your lungs are sore Until you find an open door I build you up to pull you down Tie you to your feet, and watch you drown A little bit of knowledge will destroy you A little bit of knowledge will destroy you I build you up to pull you down Tie you to the stake, and watch you burn in hell, in hell I dont know why I feel so tongue-tied I dont know why I feel so skinned alive I'll find another skin to wear I'll find another skin to wear

Lyrics
The Killers - Mr. Brightside Coming out of my cage and I've been doing just fine Gotta, gotta be down because I want it all It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this? It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss Now I'm falling asleep and she's calling a cab While he's having a smoke, and she's taking the drag Now they're going to bed and my stomach is sick And it's all in my head but she's touching his chest now He takes off her dress now Let me go I just can't look, it's killing me And taking control Jealousy, turning saints into the sea Swimming through sick lullabies Choking on your alibis But it's just the price I pay Destiny is calling me Open up my eager eyes Cos I'm Mr. Brightside

The Coolest Music Your Parents Listen To
- The Coolest Music Your Parents Listen To
Both my parents like Radiohead and The Beatles, so I'm happy. My dad has pretty good taste in music anyway, probably because like me he is a musician. He listens to jazz most of the time, but also rock and sometimes classical. My mum has quite a broad music taste. She'll quite happily watch MTV2, but she also listens to some pop music as well. Her favourite band of all time is Led Zeppelin, and that's always good.- Lyrics
The Stills - Still In Love Song We were lovers, we were kissers We were holders of hands, we were make believers Just losing time And you said you'd rather live in Tee Pee Land Than say that you care but you don't That's heartless and I will not try But I'm still in love and I'm still in love Yeah, I'm still in love and I'm still in love Your dreams of acting on screen What do they mean? You'll be dancing senseless in your bedroom And you find yourself out of a job And before too long You'll be selling lemonade to the overpaid But I'm still in love and I'm still in love Yeah, I'm still in love and I'm still in love And I'm still in love and I'm still in love I remember it was summer I was out of my head but you weren't You're selfish and a waste of space But I'm still in love and I'm still in love Yeah, I'm still in love and I'm still in love And I'm still in love and I'm still in love And I'm still in love- pedal madness
you always need to run a sound signal through them. they can't make sounds by themselves. The sounds Jonny and Ed are making with effects pedals in 'Everything In Its Right Place' aren't being generated by the pedals themselves. They have Thom's vocal and electric piano signals being run through them, so they are putting effects onto his voice and electric piano.- Coldplay or Radiohead please vote
