i've never thought of myself as being European

assuming it definitely isn't fret buzz, it could very well be some sort of earthing issue. try setting your amp on the floor instead. that could help earthing and might reduce buzzing. I'm pretty confused though - if it were an earthing problem then any buzz would be more noticeable with open strings rather than fretted notes. try moving your amp anyway - it could work. try out a different instrument cable as well. the one you're using might be knackered.

it's a load of bollocks i don't see why this should bother people at all. as long as we know our measurement systems and our apparently "impractical" language, and we are comfortable using them, then I don't see why anyone else should have a problem with us using them. England is culturally very different to most other European countries, but does that make us an unintelligent country with shit culture?
