it's called.... ermm, what's the word I'm looking for... irony n. 1. The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning. 2. An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning. 3. A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. yep. that's the one
  2. I had a ham & cheese salad sandwich yumm
  3. Alright, I'm now trying Firefox. I'm not noticing much of an improvement just yet, give it a few days and I'll probably notice something.
  4. since I begun using Internet Explorer five years ago, I've had no problem at all with it. but I guess I'll give Mozilla a try and see what the fuss is about
  5. I'm happy with Microsoft I don't see why people have a problem with Microsoft software. Windows XP is compatible, stable and user friendly, and Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player both do their jobs as well as can be asked of them. Perhaps it's because the name "Microsoft" conjures up images of Bill Gates sitting in an ivory tower, bathing in hundred dollar bills and evilly cackling at everyone below him...
  6. Massive Attack - Teardrop
  7. A pathetic 17.19kb  I tend not to use attachments. I upload to my own webspace and post a link or an tag.
  8. I thought I replied to this, but I can't find my post  anyway, here we go: 1. Radiohead 2. Jeff Buckley 3. Oasis 4. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club 5. The Mars Volta
  9. Kazaa Lite > Limewire > Kazaa :P I use Soulseek for music, and Kazaa Lite for everything else.
  10. the one I've seen is the Redux version, which has 49 minutes extra content. And at some points you're sitting there thinking "for the love of God let this scene be over soon". Like the scene where they meet the French settlers - in the Redux version this part is just way too long. The pace can slow right down at precisely the wrong time. I would actually like to see the original version as well to get a comparison. But it is a great film. Not the best I've ever seen, but still one of the best.
  11. should be something pretty similar, i would imagine find Internet Options (maybe in control panel? I forget Windows 95) and look for Privacy options (could be called Security). There should be some sort of option there to override it.
  12. I had tomato soup (cos tomatoes are a good hangover cure)
  13. If a DVD has "ALL" instead of a region code on it, you should be able to play it on any DVD player.
  14. in the worst case scenario, it could be a virus. but it's just as likely to be spyware. run Ad-aware and a virus checker. if that doesn't do the job, then I'm clueless.
  15. yeah, you need to match the ohmage on the head with the ohmage on the speaker cabinet (usually either 4 or 8 ohms). but there are other factors which contribute to selecting the right cab, so I'd ask about their compatibility when you buy them. Heads contain the pre-amp, power amp and rectifier. The cabinet is just a series of speakers which you plug the head into.
  16. 1. Muse - Time Is Running Out (assuming it was supposed to be "I want to PLAY the game, I want the friction" ;)) 2. Coldplay - Trouble 5. Coldplay - Green Eyes 6. Oasis - Wonderwall 7. Coldplay - God Put A Smile Upon Your Face 9. Coldplay - Shiver 10. Coldplay - See You Soon you're right, that was easy
  17. haha! well... they kinda turned poop before the Man Who but close enough. :P I used to like Travis, but I got extremely bored of them after a little while. The Man Who is very overrated, in my opinion.

When the walls bend with your breathing They will suck you down to the other side To the shadows blue and red Your alarm bells should be ringing This is the gloaming" Radiohead - The Gloaming
  23. 8/10 The Verve - The Drugs Don't Work
  24. you can't play DVD's on standard CD burners, but you can on DVD/CD-R combo drives, which are like a combination of a DVD ROM and a CD burner (but these are more expensive). You can store either data on them (documents, programs etc.), or you can make an audio CD. You can make an audio CD from either audio files (MP3, WAV, WMA) or by copying tracks directly from another audio CD. These audio CD's can be played on any home stereo or in your PC. Also, you can put the MP3 files on the CD as files rather than audio tracks, and have hundreds of them on a single CD (it's called an MP3 CD). But you can only play these on your computer and a select few stereos. Hope that helps.
