Yeah the footage in the film doesn't always match the audio from the exact gig, but I suppose it was a case of finding the best audio and the best image. As for the actual live shows, I believe it's backing tracks they use and not autotune. So Chris still sings Fix You but there's a track playing along to make the whole thing sound a bit "stronger" and better than one man, out of breath from running and jumping around during previous songs would be able to achieve. (also sorry your post only gets published now, it got caught in the moderation queue and I was a bit behind on cleaning that out)

^ the work ID could give an indication (older songs have a lower number), so I'm not sure if that one was added very recently. this one starts with 89 too: edit: I just realist they added a bunch of "songs" from the documentary (such as "I love you Jim", the potential world hit), so this one (and some others) are probably part of that

Sad and angry? Chris is their friend, and he wrote the songs. They’re totally ok with Chris playing Coldplay songs. Him showing up at some rich couple’s wedding for $$$ /could/ be something else but if there’s one thing that’s very clear from the AHFOD documentary, it’s that the guys respect each other completely

I kinda hope he'll pick a more recent album next time because he's beginning to come across like an old fart that thinks there are no good albums anymore these days o_O

...Wow. The thing is, you don't get to decide which songs are good and which aren't. I understand you can't possibly imagine this is a song some Coldplay fans genuinely like, but it is true though. They're not necessarily convincing themselves that it's a good song, maybe they just like more than one genre? What you're calling a "pop nightmare" that is "tarnishing the Coldplay brand", is (part of) the sound of Coldplay in 2018. Yeah the newer generation probably associates that sound with Coldplay now, because that's how they sound these days. Also, what is that Coldplay brand? They've always tried out different directions, different themes etc. i agreee though, the name change probably isn't going to have much of an effect on how people look at it. Maybe it's just time to accept that the band have changed, and that it's indeed the band that have changed, not just Chris. I mean come on, if Jonny, Will and Guy really couldn't live with this sound, the songs would have either never seen the light of day or the band would have broken up. Lastly, your third paragraph is the most Oldplayer thing I've ever read. Always interesting to see when people can apparently pinpoint what real music is and who's a true artist and who isn't. Is Pharrell a true artist who makes real music according to you? Btw I don't like the song either
