Everglow
Still feel like Chris could have done a better vocal take for the song.

Army of One
Im quite excited for this one after hearing the snippet. Love what I hear. I think its another chopped up vocal of Chris' voice that Stargate must of put together just like on Adventure Of A Lifetime. I think this one sounds pretty cool.

How did you discover Coldplay?
Hearing Yellow on the radio and wondering who the heck was this guy(Chris) walking on a beach in the music video for Yellow. I actually thought he was a solo artist! I didn't really get into them until AROBTTH. I had just graduated high school and was going through a break up with my high school girlfriend and The Scientist was released around that time and just spoke to me and the rest is history! I always heard their music on the radio and never put them together til I got really involved in discovering Coldplay thoroughly. When I was discovering their music catalog I would say,"Oh, that songs by them too?!? Cool!" I have a story about hearing The Scientist that I think is pretty cool. My father coached baseball for the high school I went too. To raise money for the team, we would get some parents and some of the players to work the concession stands at the Shoreline Amphitheater during concerts. The very first concert we did was Coldplay. This was on their AROBTTH tour, 2003 I believe. I remember hearing a lot of British accents and thinking how cool British accents sounded. Anyways, when we were done, the concert was still going. No matter where you are you can hear the music pretty well. As we were walking out they were playing The Scientist. I didn't know it was The Scientist at the time, but all I heard was the piano and Chris' muffled voice. I thought to myself, thats a nice sounding song, Im certain ill hear it again! And sure enough, they released the music video and I instantly knew it was the song I heard walking out. The Scientist is my favorite Coldplay song and it really related to me at that moment in my life. The music video was pretty cool too I thought! And then that is when I started really discovering Coldplay!

[2015-11-19] Chris Martin interview Rolling Stone
I dislike that he said this. I mean, I get it, but I dont want too. I feel like they had the potential to be a great "Rock" band or at least make a great "Rock" album. They were heading in that direction with their earlier stuff and feel they could have been a great modern rock band. I guess he is really influenced by pop music right now. Maybe one day they will make a rock album but I shouldn't get my hopes up. They'll always be my favorite group and I always learn to embrace their current sound. You just wonder sometimes what could have been if they ever went down that road or ever do.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Maybe they'll go the Adele route. She officially announced her album and will premiere her new single with only a one month notice of her albums release date. If Dec. 4th(speculating) is the target date, then I would think they would release the single around the end of October or first week of November. It kind of backs up the,"single will be released at the end of October" rumor. Usually they release the lead single a couple months in advance. Making an official announcement and releasing a single one month before the albums release date would definitely be a different strategy then previous albums. I think artist like Adele and Coldplay can get away with that sort of thing. I also think that they won't release the single without making an official announcement first. Giving us a heads up on when to expect it. I dont see a surprise release happening.

The band of course.

Amazing Day
I get a sort of 50s ballad undertone in the song. You could easily slow dance to this song!

You're right, I did hear that as well in one of the videos.

From the soundcheck videos they were using the backing track for the piano as well. I think regardless of the piano breaking during the actual set, they were going to use the backing track anyways. Just my opinion. I guess we'll have to wait and see with future performances of the song.

I enjoyed the addition of Yellow in the short set. They didn't play it much on the short GS tour or gigs, dont know why. I enjoyed the new song. I just wish Chris would have played the piano instead of using a backing track, Id rather him sing and play piano than just stand there singing with a backing track of a piano. Maybe he's getting lazy? I dont know. His voice seems a bit strained too. Its not as strong as it use to be, which saddens me a bit. As for the whole Ariana Grande duet, I thought it was pretty good. Lets be real, she can sing. Don't be naive people. If you dont like her music, thats fine, but she has a good voice. There was a point during the song where I believe she was motioning to Chris to take over the song, but Chris didn't want too cause I think he felt he couldnt sing it or it was out of his range. It does seem like they need to tighten some things up before they go on tour, seemed a bit unorganized or they were off a bit. But I know they are professionals and perfectionist and they will fix it!

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
My personal guess is that on the brink of releasing a new album(even though no date has been announced) there is no way they play the Iheartradio festival without playing one new song, which should be their lead single for AHFOD. One would think anyways. If this is the case, I think Friday is the day we should look forward to, since that is when new music is released now. They could release a video or song download before or right after their performance. They will be getting quite a significant amount of exposure while they are at the festival, so in my opinion it makes sense to release something new around this time. If I was their manager, I would think this would be a great opportunity to at least release a single. That's my take on it anyways. Also, an observation I had. Some suggest that this album will be an album that is infused with previous albums. I can see that happening. Just by looking at the pictures that have been posted and their clothes, Chris has the Viva style black jacket, the "love" button of Ghost Stories, The MX hairstyle, badges on his jacket, the all black shirt, jacket, pants, of X&Y. I still can't see anything from AROBTTH OR Parachutes era, in his clothing anyways. Maybe its nothing and all just a coincidence.

Other music artists using their own version of Xylobands.
I guess it was only a matter of time before other music acts started doing something similar to what Coldplay has done with the Xylobands. Taylor Swift is using them on her new tour. I've also seen Ingrid Michaelson have some type of version of the wristband. I also saw a glow wristband being used during the country music awards last month. From what I've seen, I think the Xylobands are the best version still. They seem brighter than all the other types of wristbands that are out there. In some small way it feels like these acts are copying Coldplay, but I guess we can always say they were the first to come up with the idea. It may even be a compliment in a way. I hope the Xylobands return next tour! What are your feelings on other acts doing something similar to the Xyloband?

Universal Coldplay Song?
I was driving with a couple co workers and Yellow came on and everyone knew it. I don't really know their musical tastes but it got me to thinking, which song of Coldplay's do you think is that one universal song that everyone seems to know or like, even the casual listener? I'd have to say it is either Yellow or Clocks.

Coldplay & Cat Power - movie soundtrack for Wish I Was Here
I quite like it. The ambiance and the piano remind me of the AROBTTH days for some reason. Nice lyrics too. Didn't expect much Chris on the song to begin with but knowing that he pretty much wrote this song, doing backing vocals, and is playing piano is good enough for me!

Where do you want Coldplay's sound to go?
I've said it before, I want them to make a rock album with loud guitars. I believe they can do it because in their live shows Jonny's guitar is very prominent and loud and crunchy. They have showed that they are capable of this with their live shows. I want them to unleash Jonny! I also liked how during the Viva sessions, Will was messing with different time signatures. Songs like Glass of Water, 42, Death and All His Friends, Hurts Like Heaven(live), etc. I'd also like it if they could not drown out Jonnys guitar in the studio version of the songs.

True Love
I really love this song. I love the lyrics and the way Chris voice sounds. His voice on this track reminds me of the A Rush Of Blood To The Head tour days. His voice sounds a bit nasally and raw, but in a good way that reminds me of that time.

Ghost Stories visual album
These visuals are amazing and totally enhance the experience of listening to each individual song. I can't help but think of Chris and Gwyneth while watching the two figures in the images and listening to the songs. I get the sense that they really did try to make it work and really do still care a lot for each other. Such an personal and emotional album I think.

Chris martin on ELLEN!!!! May 21
I like Ellen. I think Chris is only doing interviews with people he feels really comfortable with. Judging from the last time the band were on the show, with the rehearsal video of ETIAW and Ellen goofing around with Chris and the Chris and Jonny interview, I feel Chris is doing this because he feels comfortable doing it. And I think Ellen genuinely loves Coldplay and respects Chris as a person.

Midnight
I wasn't too sure about his song when it first came out. Probably because it was the first new music that we got to hear from Coldplay in a while, and I wasn't really expecting to hear something like Midnight first. When Magic came out, I totally stopped listening to Midnight. But for the past couple of weeks, I got to say, I can't stop listening to it! I really enjoy and love the vibe and lyrics to this song. I guess having a bit of what the album is about and how it fits into the scope of things gives me a better appreciation for the song. There is a little more background and context to the album as a whole now and I feel that that has helped me like the song even more now! Great track! I can't stop listening to it right now!
