Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground

Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground - discussion

  1. Started by amsterdam528,

The first verse gives me the same feeling as DWCM. Maybe it's that the lyrics are a little similar... Anyone else think the same thing?

It could just be me... however... Am I the only one who seems to see the similarities between NMFWTTG and the X&Y bonus track 'Til Kingdom Come? Similar acoustic feel, and even the chords sounds about the same. Anyone else feel the same way? I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a cool song with some awesome brass, but it feels almost like it's an upgraded 'Til Kingdom Come.

  6. This was quite a complex thought for a thread heading, so I apologize if it was lost in translation. Basically I wondered, based on the clip we got of Life In Technicolor ii, if the song Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground is an ending of sorts akin to the The Escapist. There was speculation it might be a different mix of Stawberry Swing, but the fact that the lyric is included in LIT2 makes me wonder if it is in fact the symmetrical conclusion of the EP Prospekts March. Basically VLV is a symmetrical album because its opening and closing song are built from the same formula. I was simply wondering if it would be the same with Prospekts March.

Okay, this is the last song from the EP I tried to decipher... Please post your opinions of the song too...! :chinese: Let me go boys, let me go Push my boat from the highest cliff To the sea below Rocks are waiting boys, rocks await Swoop down from the sky And catch me like a bird of prey Now my feet won't touch the ground Now my head won't stop You wait a lifetime to be found Now my feet won't touch the ground (Person feels safe in life and has success, yet he wants to discover life from another perspective, he may wants to experience adventures… He knows this won’t be getting easy, but he just has to find out who he really his. He wants to think …

  9. The first review of the EP says this: "[Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground] begins in standard Coldplay ballad territory with delicate guitars and mysterious lyrics. Chris sings: 'Push my bones from the highest cliff to the seas below/Swoop down from the sky and catch me like a bird of prey.' Then Indian finger drums and a swelling array of trumpets and tubas arrive to take the track off into an extraordinary place. " http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article1915267.ece Sound familiar? Wikicoldplay says this: "On December 11, 2007 a message [from Prospekt] on Coldplay.com stated the album was in mixing stage. It revealed the use of a colliery bras…

If anyone has a copy of it, listen to not only the lyrics, but the structure of an old b-side called Solid Ground that they only ever performed once live in 2003, and at the start he mentioned the inclusion of brass in the final mix. I will upload it another time if no one has it but it is definitely something of an old iteration lyrical wise of a song that Chris has obviously wanted to make for a while. I have always thought the song was something of an apology to the other boys in the band for any mistakes.
