Today, 11 November is in Denmark called "Morten's Day". We commemorate / celebrate a bishop - in Danish called "Morten Bisp", whose real first name was Martin. (Bisp = Bishop in English). This man did not want to be elected a bishop so he was hiding among the geese, but these cackled and were making so much noise (being frightened of this man suddenly hiding among them) that Morten Bisp was discovered and then elected bishop. To commemorate this ancient event - on the eve of 10 November most Danes eat DUCKS. I guess that, by revealing the hiding-place of Martin / Morten Bisp, the lives of the geese should be spared - and that was at the expense of the ducks!
