ah, i was wondering which to get, Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 for Christmas...which you people suggest?

I heard Doom 3 wasn't that good. Like it was a good game, but nothing spectacular apparently.

Doom 3's not really much like Doom 1 or 2 at all really - there's more atmosphere and a bit less mindless blasting. It's a fantastic game, but you need an awesome PC to play it and it gets a bit monotonous after a while. It's just a basic shooting game with cool graphics, really.

 

Half-Life 2 is the same sort of thing as the first one, but about 10 times more fun. And since Half-Life was one of the best games ever anyway, that makes it some crazy amount of fun I can't even measure. And it runs better than Doom 3 too, despite looking better.

 

While Doom 3 is a brilliant game, nothing comes close to Half-Life 2.

although doom 3 is rather cool too and lets not forget the mighty Halo 2 wich im still playing .

by the way i just finished the awesome metal gear 3 - snake eater and was surprised to hear starsailor play out on the end credits of the game - how cool :cool:
