April 23, 200521 yr Now i'm studying the last year of high school (a levels) later i'll go to uni, i want to study journalism or psichology, i hope i can go to the UNED, and then i'll can study and work, to earn money to do some courses about writing. I hope end working as a writer or on any mag or radio programme about music, cinema, arts, religion or politics.
April 23, 200521 yr I know' date=' but what profession do you have in mind when finished school?[/quote'] I wanna study law.
April 23, 200521 yr I'm in my first year at uni (DeMontfort in Leicester) studying a B.A.(Hons) degree in 'Music, Technology and Innovation'. After my degree, I'd like to be a sound engineer for a music studio (or even better, a producer). But since the music industry is the hardest thing that someone can get a job in (apart from fashion), I'm preparing for the fact that no studios will hire me. So I'm also thinking about going into radio broadcasting (not presenting though... more like production), or as a sound engineer for the BBC, or as a music journalist.
April 23, 200521 yr Well, I have an A-level in English Language & Literature, so I'm hoping that combined with my Music degree would help me get some sort of career going in music journalism. If not, then I guess a journalism course would be an idea, but it would probably only be a basic diploma or something, just to get some sort of qualificiation in it. Overall, if it means spending even more money on tuition fees etc. then I think it's unlikely :/ Anyway, I could always specialise in Music Technology journalism. There are plenty of magazines and journals that specialise in sound recording and production (e.g. 'Sound On Sound', 'Computer Music', 'Future Music' etc.) and there's no doubt a degree in music tech would be better than journalism in that sort of magazine. Besides, I'd rather have a career in sound engineering above journalism, but it's always a good idea to keep options open, eh?
April 23, 200521 yr Author As unsteady as journalism is, Sound Engineering is a whole new level of unsteadyness. Not to say that theres no jobs going at all but its hard to get jobs with a degree like that. I'd imagine Journalism being a good idea.
