BEST SONG - WHITE SHADOWS or LOW

WORST SONG - WARNING SIGN

Summary = The setlist could be so much better, why have warning sign in the set when you can have talk or twisted logic. Not sure about the acoustic set featuring til kingdon come and dont panic, Coldplay are better when they are rocking the house which was proved with White Shadows and Low.

nah, nah mate you are wrong. (also, the gig was on the 27th) I agree, low and white shadows were great but I would have liked shiver or spies in there instead of twisted logic. Swallowed In the Sea sounded great tonight as did Low. I was at the front and the guitars really kicked in loud at the end of Low

Its a solid set but it does miss Shiver, Spies and maybe Sparks.

warning sign is a classic

i want them to play all the songs from the new album but it just doesn't happen but mostly i want them to play A MESSAGE i want to do a sex wee on that song

i loved when they played warning sign they hardly played it last tour so it's nice to see it this go round

Did you take any pics Gareth????

6/10? are you mental?

ok, as couple of my personal favourites was not there.

the first 4 tracks rocked the whole of London, when speed of sound come on i went to the loo, and after that was great.

wierd how the toilet filled up when SOS was on

YOU CrAzy !!!!!!!!

Warning Sign is a classic.............way better than a message !!!!!!

YOU CrAzy !!!!!!!!

Warning Sign is a classic.............way better than a message !!!!!!

both of these are medicore though, i would of prefered One I Love

setlists seem to be a bit set-in-stone don't they? I thought u2 didn't mix them up much but this seems to be the exact same set every night. Forgive my ignorance, but what other songs have been played on this tour so far?

I want Daylight and Twisted Logic. ;(

But I also want Coldplay... so... I guess I'll take them instead.

they should of played Daylight afetr the encore when the sun was going down, the last would of been great!

it was already dark by the start of the encore though the sun had been set for quite a while

oh i will say the interm music while coldplay was setting up was much better than what the main bands will usually put on in the states. bands usually put on the worst or something on repeat for that 40min, sucks.

"Why have Warning Sign when you can have Talk or Twisted Logic?"

uh, maybe because it's actually a great song and those aren't. Nice to see them playing more from Rush of Blood and less from X&Y.

why do they start with both Square One and Politik? that seems a bit wrong. Square One is like a sequel to Politik, but the songs are a bit too similar to be right after each other. not that I've seen one of the shows yet, it's just hard to imagine. they should start with Square One, move into a song like The Scientist or Shiver or something, and do Politik late in the set.

well what i dont get is that it's called "the twisted Logic Tour" but they don't play twisted logic.

My Review

Well i got there early, me and an another ex member of here, and we walked around. found some nice little spots, sat, enjoyed the sun, maoned about £2 a drink, which in the end were warm too, and generelly wondered how close we could get to the front. so we tried to get closer, we did. Yay. So, half 5, sun is bright and the palce is filling up a bit, morning runner appear onstage at 6.05. Though i didnt much like their 1st song (and i thought the sound was off during their songs) i really did enjoy some of their songs, very piano based at times, but with the undertone of indie rock. Nice band, perhaps big things could happen for them.

they left at just after half 6 and by this point, people had clumped together at the centre of the stage (i was to the right of it if you looked towards it). So on come supergrass (at 7) and paly a few songs (i don't really know, i only like 3 supergrass songs, not a fan at all, infactr ather dislike them but this was the only concert of the play i could go to). They didnt play "alright" though (figure it must be their creep, as it wee). They were on for an hour, and msot of the crowd were into them, by now the crowd had really lumped together....

however, coldplay did not come out until just after 9 (yes, i was annoyed at this, seeing as i'd been on my feet since 5!!!! and they were now very sore) Another thing i had found annoying, in the crowds pushing etc, some very tall guy with a perm was infront of me and i could barely see anything.

So on come coldplay, and Chris appears to be in high spirits, singing their songs. Yes a lot of the enw album, it is the X&Y album tour after-all, but i was a little under-whelmed to be honest. After some amazing gigs of late, i knew it would be hard to beat, and i really was not too happy with the audience at times (throwing beer and emtpy bottles, which ended up hitting people).

Politik is a great song, but i think makes a better opener (how-ever it was opener during the rush of blood tour, so maybe they should make it a closing song now). Yellow obviously got the crowd singing, which was nice, as did god put a smile.

at some point during god put a smile, these two big breasted women tried to barge past me (many people had tried to during the gig, but i wasn't going to move, i got their early and earnt my place, they go off drinking at the back, or be lazt and arrive late, they don't deserve a good spot hehe) anyway, the taller girl managed (with help of another) to shove me out of the way and into the person next to me (which i thought was very rude) and then i moved right back into position, crushing one of the girls "damn you" she shouted...damn her.

Everything's not lost was as usual, great, sing along etc, white shadows was good, the scientist was wonderful...the acoustics of dont panic were very good too. Clocks was brilliant, with an amazing light show aswell (bit like glastonbury but still wonderful)....swallowed by the sea seemed a bit dull to me.

off they go, back on for encore all good songs, very nice...they leave....just before 10.30. Hang on, what's this, a band who have 3 studio albums, and a variety of b-sides and ep'd don't even play 90 minutes? What's going on, surely that can't be right, but no, it is. big big let down there, shame on them. (and for those ticket prices double shame).

Best Song: Clocks

Worst Swallowed by the see

Though, to add, i also think the train companies got it so very wrong...there were still a large number of people wanting to get to london bridge station, when they stopped running, and enough still wanting to go to victoria, too few trains in my view.

Over-all

Get this, this is actually the worst concert i've ever been to. Not that it was bad as such, it wasn't it was fine, but it was a bit bog standard. They were not on long enough and left some good songs off the setlist (spies, shiver, rush of blood to the head, amsterdam, trouble and i'm always hopeful of animals or talk). Although Chris did seem up for it with his dancing and little chats to us, it didn't come across amazingly well through song.

So, you might not like the score of 6/10 but compared to Guster, ben folds and barenaked ladies concerts i've been to within the last 15 months, there just wasn't the same enthusiasm from the performers, the show itself was too short (i mean some of us were there from 4, and we damn well wanted/expected a lot more than an 80 minute show of songs and maybe 10 mins of talking etc..hell the crappy DJ on after supergrass was on longer than coldplay). So no, bad, and i feel a tad bit ripped off at the same time, but i did enjoy it, but feel that £40 (including boking fee) was a bit much for what i got

considering coldplay are in my top 10 of fave artists, this is not good.

oh, i do have pictures, but don't know if i have webspace, don't know how i should go about doing it, tips?

very comprehensive review... you should pm it to Ian as a concert review!!! :wink3: he'll post it as a review on the site!

oh, thats a quick review. i'f do a proper review if i were to do that. which i may well do in the morning.

Hey everybody. I went on Monday and it was phenomenal and luckily I have some lovely pictures for you all to see!!! http://coldplaylive.piczo.com Hope you like them! Also I would have liked to see One I Love and Daylight because they are my favourite most energising Coldplay songs but I still had an amazing time!

I was there on the 27th and I liked it very much.

I agree, I would have been happier with a longer set list, but hey, the songs they played where brilliant. I enjoyed Chris' interaction with us 'the crowd' and I think he's a very charismatic man.

The only thing that was really dissapointing was the transport of all the people out of Crystal Palaca by train. We waited and waited without moving an inch before the trains took us back to Victoria Station. :/

in the first photo on the right, that indian bloke with the blue-ish stripy shirt. He was there on both dates and I had a long chat with him yesterday. really odd seeing him in the photo

haha yea i was off the the left somewhere in the seats.....
