The fact that they left How You See the World off the album ! - they put it on the export album ( Japanese - I think) also I would have liked to see Things I dont understand and even proof added to the album.

I don't like the fact that people look at the cover of the CD and say they can see the letters X and Y. They aren't there! Its a code. I don't know how many times I have to explain that each column represents a letter etc.......

 

Musically I don't like the song Twisted Logic or X&Y. Twisted Logic I find very annoying. Also I think that What If is too much like the Scientist. The boys are too early in their career to recycle songs.

Haha, people actually say that? In the beginning, I held it far away because I thought it would say something, but I later knew it was a code.

I love it all, but maybe I'm too diehard. Okay, Till Kingdom Come doesn't do an awful lot for me, but its not traditional Coldplay, and I like it live when people sing along (ie, Toronto bootleg). But I like all the songs, but I think this may be becaise the album's release and month after it (which included me seeing them live in Bolton) was one of the best months of my life, so it'll always be a special part of my life. I even love the "exclusively released" song on I think its the Japanese version, titled How You See The World.

There are some things about the album that do bug me, but don't think I hate the album, because that would be incredibly wrong. I do love the album.

 

1. Too much synth. Especially that really high screaming synth string sound. It just sounds a little too artificial.

2. Too repetative. Some of the songs just go on and on with some of the same parts. For example, What If and Talk. I think they would all be better if there weren't just an extra chorus in them. It makes them more tiring to listen to, in my opinion.

3. This kind of goes along with #1, but there just isn't enough naked sound. Everything seems to have some sort of effect on it, acoustic or not.

4. Lyrics. They're just not as good as on the other albums. More specifically, I really dislike the lyrics in What If and Fix You.

i msut admit i do skip over what if sometimes, a message and twisted logic.

Yeah we are... I only realised it after comparing it to albums by otherpeople. I still love my band so much more although there are some exceptions...

i think the album as a whole is great, but i dont particularly like the hardest part, even though i often find myself singing it

This album seems too... 'editted'. I dunno, it doesn't have that real acoustic feel that AROBTTH has. 0_o And it doesn't have the... uhm... dangit, what's that word? It doesn't have much 'warmth'. And they use the organ too much... don't like the organ. I do like A Message and Square One a lot though...

 

But I'm being a bit picky, aren't I?

^ I felt the same way too... But now I've decided to let it go... There are some lovable bits to this over-produced sound. The "bigger picture" sounds better, try listening to the overall sound of everything together instead of straining to hear the individual lines like you did in the previous albums... The layers merge better :)

i do like the layers of the album and yeh i agree the whole sound needs to be taken in. It sounds great in the shower!

 

But at first i didn't feel the warmth. when i need that warmth i just put on the AROBTTH- simple :)
