So... how exactly do you destroy a question with an answer?

No, no. I mean... how exactly does one do this? What is meant when someone says, "destroy a question with an answer?"

lol i havent a clue. someone on here will be smart enough to answer it though. we got some really smart people on here.

I'd love the insight. I don't know what is meant by it and I need to know.

whenever someone asks me soemthing i dont want to answer...or a yes or no question, you simply answer, "no im a christian."

-Britt, can i borrow five bucks?

--No im a christian...

-Hey britt did you see the new will ferell movie??

--no, im a christian...

even my atheist friends say this-it throws the other person off and they think about it...and they rarely ask the question again...

also walking away is a good one..

or interrupt them by asking if they know the natural root log of a number if its alpha is .06 and its mean is 16....no answer exists :D

lol That was... nice, but seriously!

Okay, it's an essay option for a college application. I just don't understand it.

may be you can destroy a question.. answering another question.. also annoying if their question annoyed you :idea2:

Just answering a question in such a manner that leaves no room for discussion, nor does it give the questioner a real answer.

Yeah, what Irene said.

It could also apply if the question is kind of rhetorical and leaves many possible angles and answers to give, and the answer manages to cover everything and outrightly conclude to a definite answer.

told you we have alot of smart people on here.

yeh it destroys the questioners imagination on wat the possible answers could be

well it basically destroys the question because it is answered so it is not a question anymore in the questioners mind...

eh... im sure that made sense... :dozey:

Explain it again I guess.

So... how exactly do you destroy a question with an answer?

I dont understand what is hard to understand. If someone asks a question, you answer it. Thats the basic of it.

In slightly more detail: If someone asks a general question that could have many possible answers, you destroy that question by answering with one complete answer that leaves only one conclusive answer and no other possibilities.

It is a very hard thing to do, which is why a lot of credit goes to people who can do it. Those would be good politicians or people trying to defend themselves.

I understand.

I'll pick another option for my admissions essay.
