I thought that Athlete liked Coldplay until recently when they said that Coldplay's performance at Glastonbury was crap and that everybody though it was was crap. :angry: :(

 

I'm not sure if Snow Patrol or Keane like them.

 

Martin was/is friends with one of the members of Keane, in fact he almost was part of Coldplay apparently. The band were trying to decide if they needed a fifth member to play the piano, but decided against it.

I get the feeling that Keane doesn't like Coldplay very much. In a recent interview with Keane they were very defensive in saying that they'd been around since before Coldplay formed, and that the two bands met a long time ago. Then they went on to, (half-jokingly) suggest that Coldplay had taken their style ...

I think they're perhaps a little resentful of the comparisons to Coldplay, but they probably do like them nonetheless ...

Keane are fed up with the comparisons to Coldplay as Tom Chapplin (lead singer) said that Tim Rice-Oxley (pianist in Keane) writes his songs from the heart. Also both bands went to UCL, they probably met each other there.

 

I'm not sure if Morrissey likes Coldplay as he went to one of their early shows in Los Angles.

I read that Chris considered getting Tim as pianist for Coldplay. Good thing it did not push thru, otherwise Keane wouldn't exist. I think Keane is a pretty good band, but not as good as Coldplay.
