March 20, 200719 yr ^My 1960s Record Deck^ Took me 10 minutes to work out how to use it, but once I got it working, it was excellent.

April 6, 200719 yr This week my Amazon.de package arrived including Maximo Park's "Our Earthly Pleasures". I listened to this album the whole week now and I can't explain how incredible it is. Nearly every song is very good! To the surprise of me I especially like the songs which are a bit more calm. Favourite song so far is "Books From Boxes". I was like WTF after I listened to it for the first time. Other favourites at the moment are "Our Velocity" (especially the ending is marvellous), "By The Monument", "Sandblasted And Set Free" and the last track "Parisian Skies". It's too early for me to say that this album is probably worse or better than ACT. I only know that I have to see this band again sometime.
May 2, 200719 yr Saw them last night at Southampton Guildhall...front row again but to the left right in front of the massive sub speaker stack. Was intense! They were on form but was quite a small venue so maybe not as raucous as it could have been. That said, two nutters did jump on stage and hug Paul! They were of course ejected. My favourite pics of the evening: Duncan! The Park! Duncan again Paul I'm a Dunc fan! Another Dunc! Love this picture! Last track was Limassol with strobe lighting! Then the set blew up...:P Great night!
May 2, 200719 yr Glad you had a good time Ted. Me too went to the front row, of the balcony. What, you get less pushing and you can watch the whole stage :D Who was the first support act?
May 3, 200719 yr First support was Cougar from America. I liked them but they really weren't like Maxïmo at all! Preferred Art Brut to be honest...so much so that I got their album "Bang Bang Rock & Roll" today!
June 16, 200719 yr Today the "MTV Campus Invasion" finally started in Germany and I'm just watching Maximo Park live from the university of Marburg and what else can I tell you?! They're absolutely brilliant! People in the crowd are totally becoming crazy! My personal highlight so far is "Books From Boxes". Mainly songs of their new record! Love it! Mando Diao to follow... :wink3:
June 16, 200719 yr Yeah, that song is absolutely incredible! After that they've played "Karaoke Plays" and "Russian Literature"... They just started with "Apply Some Pressure" now. ^^ Looks so great with the castle on the hill in the background... David thanks, but I already bought all three albums! ;)
June 16, 200719 yr Those links contain more b-sides than that is found on "Missing Songs". Also it has the "Found On Film" DVD/CD audio.
June 16, 200719 yr Oh really? Thanks for the advice. Then I'll definitely look for it... "Nosebleed"... First I didn't like this song very much, but since a few days I can't get enough of it! ;) Now "The Unshockable"... Hopefully someone will upload some songs on youtube afterwards, although MTV quickly deletes all these links sooner or later...
June 16, 200719 yr There will be some stuff in there which you wouldn't have I bet. Still think the first album is better.
June 16, 200719 yr ;) I'm desperately searching for any b-sides... I think all three albums are amazing, but my favourite one is "Our Earthly Pleasures" recently... :D It's hart to say this one or that one is better... They've finished with Limassol! :nice:
June 16, 200719 yr I count you mean by "3 Albums", their B-sides Collection album which isn't really an album, just a collection of b-sides.
June 16, 200719 yr Yeah, I onced bought "A Certain Trigger" and "Missing Songs" together in a package at Amazon, so I always thought it's an official one...
June 16, 200719 yr It's an officially released album, "Missing Songs is a compilation album by the British indie rock band Maxïmo Park comprising B-sides and demos previously available only on British released singles. The John Lennon cover "Isolation" was also featured on a compilation made up of cover versions of Lennons songs that was given away with a British montly music magazine."
