OMG I couldn't resist....I DL'd the new album (I will be purchasing when released, of course! :smug:) yesterday and it's pretty good, but as yet it doesn't seem anywhere near as powerful and classic as ACT.

 

I loved every track on ACT immediatley, and I still do. But many of the tracks on OEP haven't quite 'grabbed me' as yet....doens't mean they are bad as such, just perhaps not so much to my taste as ACT.

 

By The Monument is absolutely stunning. Possibly my favourite Maximo track to date. I knew I loved it from the moment I heard it live.

The lyrics are quite typical maximo, but even more wonderful. And wow, what a sound. Just a huge, huge song. :heart:

 

Books from Boxes, The Unshockable and of course Our Velocity would be my other favourites at the moment.

 

Musically I really really like Girls Who Play Guitars. but the lyrics just make me cringe, which is a shame.

I really understand what you mean. When I listened to "Our Velocity" for the first time I would have recognized them immediately without watching the clip. It's their typical style and it's also Paul's strong British accent which is unique and I like it very much. Now you might say... how boring! They always do the same music... far from it! In the end of "Our Velocity" you can listen that their new songs are more mature compared to songs of their first and second record. That's the reason why I'm really excited about their next album.

I downloaded maximo album last night as well as Kaisers album. Listened to Kaisers on way to work and Maximo on the way home....guess which one was at least 50% better??:rolleyes:

It has to be Maximo, because the new kaisers album is absolute bollocks :laugh4: (except for Ruby and Heat Dies Down)
