The Simpsons has been the WORST show on TV for the past 4 years at least, maybe 5. The humour is so God damn dumb right now that I could easily write a funnier episode. I mean it, it is the worst, even worse then Family Guy, its most brutal, and painfully unfunny.

i admit the recent episodes can't live up to the old ones which i still find hilarious, but i'd still rather watch the simpsons than a lot of tv programmes nowadays :dozey:

For the last 5 years, yes.

 

The 6 or 7 years before that are pure gold. The older episodes alone make it my favourite TV show of all time.

Of course its my favourite TV show of all time and the greatness of it before is kind of implied, but right now it just sucks.

 

Its not just bad, it got to a stage around 5 years ago where it was "alright" for a series, which was weird, and then the series after that it was officially bad. Which was unbelievable. The 2 series after that were horrible, thats when the plotlines went completely. And the newest series is code red, absolutely ridiculously cringeworthily horrible.

Agreed. I think the worst case I've ever seen is "Saddlesore Galactica":

 

- Bart and Homer find a horse at a county fair

- they take it home

- they discover it's a fast runner

- they take it horseracing (with Bart as the jockey)

- they give it a makeover to make it look "bad-ass"

- it starts winning all the races by knocking horses off the course

- Homer gets kidnapped by jockeys and taken to their secret hideout

- they threaten to kill him unless the horse stops sabotaging races

- there's a showdown between Bart, Homer, their horse, and a dozen blood-thirsty jockeys

After that one, I simply refuse to watch a new episode of The Simpsons. I don't know how people can watch it now and still find it funny.

I prefer to watch it than a lot of other TV shows like.....Big Brother (:P).

No way. Family Guy is pure genius at times. I laugh more during a Family Guy episode more consistently than most Simpsons episodes.

You are right about the Simpsons quality going down though. It has not been the same since the Who Shot Mr. Burns episodes.

Hahahaha! Its so horrible that its funny. Thats the only funny thing about it.

 

My worst one has to be-

 

-Bart gets really mad at Homer, calling him a disrespectful parent and explaining how he is sick of him

-Bart goes to a lawyer and gets a child-parent divorce. No, really.

-It gets passed in court (as 95% of simpsons episodes now involve the courts)

-Bart moves out to the city in a little apartment (Lord knows how it was paid for)

-He gets lonely and scared and goes to the elevator, which accidently brings him to the top floor

-This then brings him to, TONY HAWK's, secret hideout where Tony and all his skateboarder friends are having a great time

-Tony invites Bart in of course, they have a great time

-Homer eventually finds out and is,... Mad.

-Homer gets a magic skateboard from professor Frink

-A skateboard duel takes place between Hawk and Homer, in which they fight using their skateboards on a halfpipe

-Homer wins and Bart returns home, despite never even being in custody of Hawk so it doesnt really make sense

I love The Simpsons! I was watching it since I was 5 or 6! Of course I was laughing at alot of the jokes for the wrong reasons, but I still grew up with it. I just got the Season 6 DVD. And put my order in for the alternate box.

 

I need to get Futurama DVDs, STAT.

I love the simpsons---give them a break you guys---they have managed to make us laugh for all this time---its obvious they can lose a bit of their touch---ideas run out------plus like someone else said--they are still much much better than many stupid reality shows, and comedy shows out there
