Honestly I watched this DVD with german subtitles once.....and then I knew what they said and since that day I watch it in english....haha...

 

Yeah I'm fine.....can't believe that my final exams are going to be in 6 weeks....and I haven't studied anything yet!:uhoh:

yeah pressure from uni/school is the worst!!!

heeh well actually I don't....because all the other 80 people of my form feel the same....;)

 

yeah and that's one of the things my mum for example doesn't seem to understand.....she always says: Oh I wish I had your life Julia....your life as a student!"....well i think on the one hand she's right.....because she has to do the household....to care for many things etc....

 

but on the other hand I got the impression as if she doesn't see how much pressure there is on me....when I know I'll have important exams soon.....

we often get in trouble because of this....

hehe....that's the benefit of not having private lessons i guess! ;)

 

that's something discussed around the house too! yeah we've got the pressure but i guess they end up being more tired.....

the only things i don't like about being a student is: wake up really early, the routine (you follow the same schedual every week) and pressure (specially in those subjects when you don't understand anything at all!) but other than that...it's good being with people from your age (well more in school than at uni) and when you don't have exams it's great!!! oh and at least here your vacations are much bigger!!

 

btw julia, do you know what Miguel has been up to?? haven't seen him online for some days now... well maybe it's my fault because i haven't been much time here lately, too busy with uni!!

First of all: Yeah everything's ok with me (although I crashed a little bit into another car today when I wanted to park in front of our school...:uhoh:)......we had an english exam today....and damn it was really hard.....when I saw it first I was afraid that I couldn't write anything!But after all it was ok....

 

Oh well.....I don't even have a problem with getting up early....and the routine is also not a problem for me....because everyday something new happens in school....and my teachers are pretty cool...(most of them hehe....)....the only thing that really bothers is the pressure thing.....but however....I have gone through that for 12 1/2 years now.....and so I think I will manage this last piece as well....I hope...:uhoh:

 

Oh I think Miguel moved last week and that's why he hasn't been online for a few days......he told me that he won't have internet access at the beginning...;)

and he also told me that he will maybe go to Portugal this week already.....because the director proposed him so.and it depended on whether he could change the flight tickets or not......so this could also be a reason...;)

i'm glad your exam turned out to be ok in the end....i had those too!.....was your car or the other car damaged? :uhoh:

 

oh i have a BIG problem in getting up early....it's really difficult for me!.....yeah i'm sure you will manage it well, are you in the last year of school?

i'm fine....i just have the feeling i should be studying much more than i am....i mean i'm at uni, i'm supposed to study everyday and that's something i'm really not doing....and as you, i also feel the pressure because i'll have tests, exams and papers to deliver....

Hehe.....no not my car was damaged but the other one was....my parents took it quite easy going anyways.....they said as long nothing worse happens it's not so bad.....I guess for them it's more important that nothing happens to me...:D

 

 

Yeah I'm in my last year of school....let's say in my last half year.....instead of 13 years of school we graduate after 12 1/2 years of school....;)

and currently we are in our last exams before the most impiortant exams...wow only four weeks to go and we'll have our a-levels....and I haven't studid anything yet...:uhoh:

I'm also quite lazy in case of studying......I guess my marks could be better...I am an average student I'd say....

oh ok didn't know that in german things worked that way...yeah i'm lazy too so i'm not a good influence :P, i have the feeling i could get better marks if i wasn't this lazy....and i studied all on the week before my mosty important exams....those are national and you need them to enter in uni and only who has better grades can enter so...you see...it was important! i didn't have the grades i wanted but i still got in the degree i wanted. so now i'm in the first year of uni studying international relations. do you know what it is? most people don't that's why i'm asking...

 

what are your plans after you finish your exams? will you go to uni?

oh here you need certain marks to pass your a-leveks...otherwise you can't graduate and have to stay at school for another year.....:\

 

here you only need certain marks in particual subjects.......for example subjects that have to do with media....because so many people want to study this at uni and they need to select them somehow...;)

 

international relations?Well I do not really know what it is hehe...

 

Yeah I want to go to uni as well......and I want to study musicology....especially music history and how it affects cultures.....I can also choose two minor subjects...haven't chosen yet there....

oh yeah you need to have positive marks on the exams of the subjects you need for the degree....and you need to have a positive media in every subject or else you can't finish school...

 

well...it has to do with contemporany history and how states/countries relate to each other....when i finish it i supposedly can be a diplomat or represent my country in any way, or working in an international organisation like United Nations or European Union....but well for that you have to be really good and of course people need to thrust you....i like my degree but i don't know what i'll do after....oh and you can work in the Portuguese parlament or be a politician or do anything that has to with politics....

musicology?? that seems interesting! do you need to play an instrument or it's just the theoric studying of music?

yeah i can choose minor too...please tell me what you chose then! i'll be interested in knowing! ;)

Oh honestly I think that sound sinteresting.....you know when I was younger I wasn't really interested in politics......but at school I have history as a major course....and that's why I became more interested in it from time to time.....so I think it's cool that you want to do something like that.....-..I guess my Dad would have been more pleased if I chose something like that.....:P

 

Well.....it's just the theoretic way of studying music....actually I wanted to study something practical.....but it would have been too hard....I would have had to learn piano for that.....and it's pretty difficult to apply for the uni....

I think the subject I want to do now is the right one for me...:D

Yeah I really think it's interesting because since I got a bit more into politics it's not as boring anymore as it seemed to be before....although I can't imagine to have a job that has to do with politics...;)

 

 

hehe....yeah I have been playing the saxophon for about 10 years now.....I love it....I also taught myself a bit playing guitar, keyboard/piano....haha and bought a bongo and an ukulele....ha I think I'm a bit of a freak there....

If so then yes......I think how it developed....how it affected society and things like that......those are the things that really interest me...hehe...;)

Oh my today is a day I am really tired of everything.....I studied a lot today because tomorrow I'll have a history exam....and I was just not bothered to study....damn I wish I were on holidays.....actually I usually say that I love school....but at the moment I'm tired of it,....it upsets me somehow...

i think i heard somewhere that portugal is one of the countries with most holidays!! but i really don't mind! :smug:.....you are going to do three exams then?

 

oh yeah i hate when the classroom is really dark and you are having a boring subject! i had french in school and didn't like it....and i, as my classmates, only know a bit of french after 6 years of studying it! our teachers didn't taught us too well and in general when you learn a language only from school you don't get good results....i think our schools (portuguese ones) don't teach languages well!!
