From the topic "My video for 'Talk' " and other posts in that thread (thumbs up, by the way, participants in that thread) I became curious of what kinds of thoughts people had in their heads for Coldplay videos of all sorts. Whether a video for a song that never got one, or a revampment for a song that already got a vid, I'm curious to see what you think.

 

I personally think that the video for 'Yellow,' while nice and simple, also ended up being a bit...I don't know, boring? Soz Chris and Co., but it's such an amazing song, I wish more had been done with it. Other than that, I've been really pleased. I particularly liked "Trouble" in that it's a bit diffo from the other Coldplay vids out.

 

I would have liked to have seen videos for "Don't Panic" and "Spies" off of Parachutes, "Warning Sign" from AROBTTH, and "What If" of X&Y. I'll do some thought and think of what would work out well for these songs.

 

TBH, it'd be a bit hard to do "Don't Panic" without it coming off very cheesy, given the outrageously optimistic lyrics.

 

As to "Spies" it's just such a cool song, it'd be neat to see another concept/graphics sort of video, kinda like "Trouble" only darker, as it's a sort of dark song when it comes down to it.

 

"Warning Sign" would be difficult to produce a video for, it might be neat to see a bit of a mix between performance and storyline. I'd like to see the boys work some women into their videos every now and then, I think they could do it on this song.

 

Finally, with "What If" it's less of wanting to see a video for this song, more of just wanting to get such an amazing song out to the public. They deserve to see what is likely the best Coldplay song, lyrically at least, to date. It would be interesting to see what kind of video they would put out without making people want to put a gun to their heads, in that it'd be that depressing.

we were already posting our ideas there-----but anywho---like i said---i am not artistic whatsoever, so i guess any videos that have a storyline like "scientist" or maybe even "fix you" are great for me----just dont keep making them like SOS or live performances--- :P

Oh they could be playing on an ice berg and then it breaks off and all the penguins jump on and it gets too heavy and the iceberg starts to sink and they have to swim and then they grab onto Will's drums, Jonny guitar, and Guy's bass and they float on those until they end up in the carribean with all the penguins and then suddenly it turns out that the island is really the island from Lost and there's an evil monster/scary crazy people on the island and they're trying to kill them and there's a weird french lady leaving messages and......

Oh. And it'd all be to the tune of "White Shadows".

I like the idea of animals in the video! My fav video of coldplay has to be God put a smile upon your face! It's great, it cought my attention on the band! :rolleyes:

I would have loved to see a video for sparks.But for some reason i always picture it being kinda like "the scientist"video in a way with just chris in it.My idea would be chris driving in a car,downtown somewhere,with the whole,"did i drive you away"lyrics in mind.Then with chris drving and singing he would look to his left for example and see a happy couple holding hands and laughing or something and remind him of a past relationship and he would flash back and it remind him of how happy they use to be.The he would look to his right and see another couple getting into a big argument and it would remind him of a bad time in his past reltionship and he would flash back again.Then he would look in his rear view mirror when he starts to sing "i saw sparks" part,and thinks he sees "the girl" and then quckly looks over his shoulder an doesnt see anyone,kinda like a mirage.This whole time he is driving straight,then he looks up out the window up at the sky as day turns into night an sees a shooting star kinda goin with the whole i saw sparks thing.The he just drives off into the night and then as the car keeps goin "the girl" walks across the street behind him.Something like that.I dont know thats my idea probably not good but thats what i kinda always envisioned as my Sparks video idea.

Interesting idea! I like it! You know what would be cool, if they did it SORT OF as a continuation of the Scientist video. I always watch that and think of what the story line could be if the video didn't end there. Or if it was going FORWARDS instead of backwards.

the penguins has given me an idea

 

you can have David Atenborough ( how do you spell his name the animal documentry dude) talking about penguins and they are floating on icebergs- the beautiful scenery will be shown in different shots and angles to a coldplay song dont really which but lets just say X and Y. Then you suddenly notice its an iceberg with four black clad penguins but wait .. no its the band playing.

i really don't know how to end it though...
