September 1, 200520 yr http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4206450.stm possibly at the 2006 world cup :stunned:
September 1, 200520 yr I agree with Reilly.... its loses is 'human touch' by adding all this fancy schmancy stuff. Footbal can't go all ArnIe on us.. its just not right!!
September 2, 200520 yr i'm not entirlly for it but then again if england lost after having a goal dissalowed in the world cup final i'm sure i'd change my mind
September 2, 200520 yr its a bad idea.. the lottery of in different decisons... makes the game better...
September 2, 200520 yr The majority of people (and especially those in the game) agree that goal line technology would improve football because there have been some extremely contentious decisions made concerning "goals" over the years. A decision as to whether a ball has crossed the line or not could be made very quickly and wouldn't affect the flow of the game. It works in cricket (with stumpings), so I don't see why it shouldn't prove invaluable in football. I don't agree that video technology should come into play for ALL decisions, but in terms of the goal line it will be very useful indeed and is long overdue!!

I say go for it, it is used in rugby as well to determine if it was a Try or not.

I also like how in rugby the game continues while injuries are being treated on pitch.......................................
September 5, 200520 yr It's about time... Though I will miss all the gabble that surrounds controversies over goals that should/should not have been :D
September 5, 200520 yr It's about time... Though I will miss all the gabble that surrounds controversies over goals that should/should not have been :D I don't think I'll miss it, somehow - that Man U incident last season was ridiculous and made a mockery of football.........................
September 5, 200520 yr finally, this would end all that crap if a shot was a goal or not.... although as the article says: "This goal-line technology is enough. Football must keep its human face and must accept errors. If we start to make it too scientific this game will lose its fascination"

Which one was it again, I'm embarassed as a Man U fan I can't remember :embarrased: Well, I suppose there'll always be the off-side rule to start the tongues wagging
