I listened to the album, I wasn't able to resist any longer, although I wanted to wait until the album is in my postbox. Whatever :D

It's what I expected after Papillon: (For me) Too much Synths, and in return to that, they leave out the guitars. I only listened once to the album, but it was, well, disappointing. I was obsessed with their "old" style, but maybe it only needs a little time until I get warm with In This Light and on This Evening. I desperately hope that this is going to happen, everything else would be a shame.

Hopefully, the tide turns for the better...

After watching the AWESOME video for Papillon, the song has grown on me! :)

it better have

that's what it did to me...in time the album will as well! :D

Hmm. I bagged the shit out of this album initially, but it's growing. I just think that a majority of the songs are good, but they are not great. 1st track seems to go nowhere, there is a tremendous build up, to a disappointing climax - single note morse code, anyone? Bricks and mortar is average.

Papillon still my favourite, this is awesome live (see Jools Holland). You don't know love has some awesome synths, it's my 3rd fave off the record. The Bix Exit, wow. Crapola. Boring. Repetitive. The Boxer, nice. Could easily go on the last record. Seems to me like a good closer rather than track 6.

Like treasure is another average track that could have been better with guitars and a faster tempo. Eat Red Meat? Wow. This is awesome. One of the weirdest songs of the year, my equal favourite, it's so good. Synths work on this track. I think this song epitomizes what the band wanted from this record, and what they didn't end up getting consistently. LOVE it. Walk the fleet road is a decent closer, nothing amazing.

I look forward to Cuttings 2, as we could be in for a few more surprises.

Right now, this LP is about a 7/10.

A shame considering The Back Room was 9 and an End Has A Start was a 10. I have no problem with a band 'changing direction', but they have to do it well. Take the Arctic Monkeys' new album, for example.

Still looking forward to seeing/hearing new songs played live in January if these songs are played:

In this light and on this evening, Papillon, You Don't Know Love, Eat Meat = Blood Drool.

I love Like Treasure, that's my favorite song

Oh, I am sure heaps of people love it, its just not a favourite of mine.

I think I want me one of those CDs.

looks okay,

I want Cuttings 2 though.

Demos are always interesting, but they don't do it for me

Have you heard the acoustic versons of You Don't Know Love, Papillon, and Eat Read Meat = Blood Drool? They're pretty good.

These are promising!

Those live performances blew me away,

I saw the videos on youtube, but I wasn't quite sure on what they'd be live.

But then, it was proven that it's great

Yeah, the Jools Holland Performances are amazing. It works live.

It does, I want to see a performance of Like Treasure, it is so haunting with the background vocals! I love it
