what the hell!! NME is like the unofficial arctic monkeys fansite. oooo i get it they were expecting whatever people say version 2. silly idiots.

Yep. That's 100% spot on, an 8.5.

 

The only songs I genuinely skip are 'Dangerous Animals' (Hate the lyrics.. and spelling out words?) and Pretty Visitors (Loud rambling). Those two songs just aren't as complicated and thought out as the other tracks seem to be.

 

Were the tracks on the radio any different to the leak or not?

really? I like both of those songs. Dangerous Animals has a rigerous pace and Pretty Visitors is okay

 

Fire and the Thud is pretty good

I hate the spelling out too, but there is one bit of guitar about 2/3 through in DA that moere than makes up for the spelling, it's a great song regardless

 

I don't dislike any of the songs, it's an amazing album, love it to bits.

i think red right hand is an amazing song and AM doing a fairly decent job of it. i like it how they challenge themselves and do songs completely out of their lieu. i know the british media has done their best to label these guys as pop rock stars but their talent and genuine passion for music will always override that.

i agree, they aren't afraid to change, which is what they did with Humbug, it's an amazing record!

Yeah and this bellend would like "Sketchead" if anyone has it. I know its out there, it was released in Japan today.

i have never quite understood why japanese versions of albums always have all these awesome extras and stuff. why not just make that available to everyone? if there's a valid reason i would love to know.

Yeah I know. But they only really end up getting b-sides which are eventually released... but on CD is a big plus

i tried torrents but no luck there either. it isnt on the japanese version of the album either. but you can hear a preview of it on itunes which i guess means you can download it once the album comes out officially.
