Ewwww! Did anyone else watch The O.C. tonight? If you did, you probably heard the awful (at least I thought it was awful) cover of "Yellow" at the end. It was sung by a girl!!!! Yuck! Seriously, it did not sound good at all. No one should be allowed to cover them!! :P :angry:

I personally thought it was beautiful! A very nice cover! And this isn't the only cover of a Coldplay song by a FEMALE... what is wrong with a girl covering any Coldplay song??:

This cover wasn't very good. But claiming that no one should be allowed to cover them is a rather elitist attitude, considering they cover several bands themselves, including The Beatles. And c'mon, "it's The Beatles!"

Haha but Coldplay covers are at least somewhat decent. I really like Stop Me If You Think.

I'm sure there are people that would argue that. (Though it's unlikely they frequent this board.)

Not everybody can like everything...or appreciate everything. Some people don't like covers period and others don't mind them. I personally don't like Beatles covers either. I'm no elitist, believe me. I just think that sometimes good songs should be left well enough alone. :D

In Austria/Germany/etc they haven't shown the new O.C. episodes yet.. The last one on German TV featured "Fix You" in the end and it was gorgeous, it fit perfectly to the love/drama scene :D

I think I just love them because I've never heard the original, so I have nothing to compare them to. :D

The cover was by Tanya Chua. She is a very different artist from what most people on the board would typically listen to.

I personally think that it was a pretty good cover, but it's often hard to tell when it's being used as background music.

She also has a cover of the song "Drops of Jupiter" which is different but good in my oppinion.

Wow...you guys are really behind! :D I loved it when they used "Fix You" in that episode too! They played that episode over here like sometime last spring, so that was the very first time I had ever heard "Fix You" and I was just like OH. MY. GOD. It blew me away! :D

Yeah, we're always really behind :lol: I remember reading on this message board that a brand new Coldplay single will be featured on the O.C. - and now it's nothing special because I've heard this song a thousand times, but it was cool anyway ;)

 

Well, it's just with "Friends".. You had the big final months ago, right? It was at the beginning of this year, wasn't it? Well, we saw it about one or two months ago :lol:
