I don't know what to say, to be honest.. But well, let's start with something that I recently found out and that I haven't even known before: "Parachutes" is dedicated to Will's mom Sara Champion who died during the album's recording. That's why it says "This is for Sara Champion" in the booklet.

Yellow video was shooted the day of her funeral :( that's why there's only chris on it, although the original idea was to have all 4 members on the beach...

yeah, i think that's the most touching thing i've heard about the guys :(

Here is something you may know or may not know about Talk.

 

I am a true Coldplay fan, however yesterday as I was listening to some mp3's, Kraftwerk, I noticed that the song Computer Love, which was released way before Coldplay was even thought of, sounded identical to Talk! Now I am not saying that they stole it from Kraftwerk, but the beginning guitar intro, is dead exact to Computer Love. I absolutely hate it when bands use other bands stuff! Where is the originality in that? Give it a listen and you will see what I mean.

Truely disappointed.

There are loads of threads on this - so once again... they sampled the riff from Computer Love after writing and getting Kraftwork's permission. Kraftwork were happy for them to use it. Look at your X&Y booklet and you'll see they credit Kraftwork for Talk.

 

As a true coldplay fan you shouldn't doubt them! :) ;)

The head of music at my school last year was at Sherborne with Chris Martin and he said he was a great guy! :cool:

Chris Martin makes no bones about his influences.You can probably pick any song and make comparisons by other artists-no harm in that.

The title? Maybe. Y'know, Spies in that country may have further negative meanings. It's in connection with politics. What a stupid theory :angry:

It's absolutely hilarious when the guys are explaining about writing to Kraftwerk asking permission to use that intro/riff for 'Talk' - Chris saying the letter to them in German. "I am (in German of course) une Coldplayer..." hehehe how funny is he, and then Guy at the end saying - "Thank you for asking our permission first, unlike that b*****d JayZ" - the way he said it was just so funny :lol: Coldplay are the coolest funniest guys in the world ever :D Ohhhhh, I just remembered, their is a little profile on Chris Martin in today's Daily Mail TV guide - let me go and find something else to add to this fun thread... (scurries to front room...). Ok, you may already know this - apologies in advance! - Chris' full name is Christopher Anthony John Martin! His mother was a teacher and his father an accountant. Chris went to the same schoolas Jeremy Irons and John Le Carre. Chris has a degree in Ancient World Studies. Chris does an hour's yoga and runs everyday, and says he gets cross when he sees a 'tall, skinny bloke with a pot belly in the mirror'. Bless his cotton socks :) I hope this is interesting to you, and don't forget Storytellers on Channel 4 tonight at 11.30pm!!! Even if you've already seen it, it's always worth watching it over and over again :D
