December 12, 200520 yr ok so 7 days to go and i so cannot wait for this concert! the only problem is the morning after i'm going on holiday and so won't be able to see other peoples' opinions, pictures, bootlegs etc. I would really appreciate that anything to do with this concert would go into this thread so that when i come back i can catch up and relive the whole thing :) anyway is anyone else here going to the concert? i sure hope so otherwise this threads gonna be empty!
December 12, 200520 yr I'm going! :D I can't wait, Im going with my Dad because he's a massive Coldplay fan, too. I think we're going to make a bit of a day of it. We're going to get to Manchester pretty early on and perhaps have a drink or something before we go to the M.E.N. I had a major panic over the weekend.. I'd stashed the tickets somewhere so safe I couldn't find them for a while :o Luckily though I now know exactly where they are!
December 12, 200520 yr Yea can't wait! Should be amazing, Richard Ashcroft there too! A bit of the Verve will be played i think!
December 12, 200520 yr Ian- Aww cool! Hope you have a wonderful time! (Silly thing to say really, it's Coldplay, of course you'll have an amaaazing time!) :)
December 12, 200520 yr worth going early for :) No cheeky beers at the bar during the support act for me :(
December 12, 200520 yr I couldn't get tickets so I'm not going, (probably) the end of my story. Anyone have any spare tickets? :wink3:
December 13, 200520 yr me and jenjie are going well, at this rate I'll be there in body but not necessarily in mind. they are going to have to open with Politik to wake me up!! I've got my work Xmas do the night before and I start work at 7am. :rolleyes4:
December 13, 200520 yr RA-D, there are still tickets left on eBay if you're willing to pay a little extra. I hope you get some sorted :) It would be great if people could post bootlegs (is that what they're called) with recordings of the Manchester gig so I can relive it  I can't wait either, my first Coldplay live experience. I just hope Chris' voice manages to stay strong - they've been touring for quite a while and these UK dates are really close together. I'm sure he'll be great though  I love him anyway no matter what, and Guy and Jon and Will  Coolest dudes in the world or what.
December 13, 200520 yr On the subject of bootlegs, what do people actually use to do voice recordings. apart from mobile phones? Are they easy to buy/expensive?
December 13, 200520 yr recording equipment tends to be quite expensive if you want a good recording. You'd need a DAT recorder to get a good one I'm told. I can't afford the prices that the tickets are going for on eBay unfortunately for me, have you ever noticed how much higher prices tend to be for northern shows (any band) than southern ones, yet they still insist on playing more shows in London?
December 13, 200520 yr recording equipment tends to be quite expensive if you want a good recording. You'd need a DAT recorder to get a good one I'm told. DAT is dead....long live HD/flash recorders most recorders that record in .wav will get a good tape. to the one who asked about a rig... you could get a passable recording with an ECM-717 mic and an MD recorder, but I did say passable..
December 13, 200520 yr Author wow it looks like theres quite a few ppl from here going! what time will everyone be queuing up?
December 16, 200520 yr As I'm in the seated part of the M.E.N. I don't really need to be there too early... although I think my Dad and I are going to set off with a good few hours to spare before the trains get a bit too hectic with rush hour and all that. When we went to the Bolton concert, the trains got quite busy early on -- plus I know from travelling to uni that there are loads of Christmas shoppers travelling at the moment... I don't want to get my nice new Coldplay-concert outfit too crumpled before the night   :P
December 16, 200520 yr Ohhhh I really can't wait to go!!! I'll be getting the train at around 4pm from Liverpool I think, so hopefully in at 5pm. I'll be all on my own cos none of my friends could get tickets, so I'll have to try talking to myself :o Maybe not.
December 17, 200520 yr Ohhhh I really can't wait to go!!! I'll be getting the train at around 4pm from Liverpool I think' date=' so hopefully in at 5pm. I'll be all on my own cos none of my friends could get tickets, so I'll have to try talking to myself :o Maybe not.[/quote'] Oh your going from Liverpool too! So are me and my friend, but we havent decided on times yet. :/ any suggestions for times to be there if we have standing tickets and want to get a pretty good spec?
December 17, 200520 yr never been t a gig in manchester, wont be there..bit if that bcfc is for bimringham city, manchester isn't a good place fo rus you know...4-1
December 17, 200520 yr Yo Rachel! Nice to see some fans from Liverpool. Hopefully I'll be able to leave my place of education a tad early ;) and get the 3.55 train I think it is and get to Victoria next to the MEN at around 5pm - I'll have to check the times again cos I keep forgetting! I don't know the best time to get there with regards to having standing tickets - I know some people are planning to get there extremely early in the morning, I guess to queue outside??? but I won't mind trying to worm my way to the front ;) in an orderly manner of course, the gentleman I am :D I hope you have a great time at the concert with your friend :)
December 17, 200520 yr We wont be getting there in the morning, but hopefully middle afternoon if we can get out of college! Lol. I want to be close enough, as I havent seen them at a gig before and I doubt I'll get to go again really. I have to check train times and everything soon...Its the day after tomorow...GOSH  :o
