I didnt get anything specifically Coldplay, but my mum bought me my 1st electric guitar and the AROBTTH tab book....i've been sat playing for hours, (my fingers KILL :stunned: ) and i've taught myself (can only play them slowly at the mo) the riff's of In My Place and GPASUYF!!!! :D :D :D YAAAY!!!!!!!!! :D :D

Ummm....not really! :lol: Enough to get by with just learning by ear/tabs for now, but i've gotta teach myself chords all over again as i dont remember anything. My guitar teacher died when i was a kid and i took it badly, so i just kinda stopped playing (acoustic). I wish i hadnt!

I got Parachutes on vinyl, which is amazing...

and when I was recently in DisneyWorld with my family, we passed this booth that had silver band rings that a guy would carve a person's name into ... or whatever words you wanted .. and i mentioned that coldplay in a ring would be amazing. No one said anything, I didn't think they were listening... and I forgot about it. But today, I opened a mickey mouse box... and there was a silver ring with coldplay engraved into the ring for my left pinky finger (like chris')...

i didn't get anything coldplay, but i'm going to buy myself the calendar and i'm going to buy my sister one for her apartment because she's moving out next week and she loves coldplay as much as i do :D

And, steph, you might be interested to know that Jon and Chris detune their guitars to get a different sound and make playing some impossible chords easier. Hence why many people who try to replicate the Coldplay sound when playing one of their songs, can't do it often times. :D

Steph, your guitar is gorgeous :D Well cool! :cool: I was playing my cousin's electric guitar today :lol: I was teaching her Coldplay and she taught me REM everybody hurts. My acoustic just isnt good enough now! I need ELECTRIC! :lol:

 

I got a coldplay calendar this year and also my friend who came to earls court with me gave me a photo of Will she took that I hadn't seen yet :D (that was the best present! :lol: ) I'll scan it tomorrow :D

I love how they repeat it three times and Will, the second time, goes "FUCKING HELL" and you can hear Guy say "So easy... it's so bloody easy. 'Ding' that's it man," and you can hear Will say something like 'Well why don't you do it?' and they laugh and the last time is done really fast. xD
