Would Jesus hate gays??

Featured Replies

Somebody on myspace wrote something that it was really interesting for me.....

when jesus was alive, he had what many scholars call an "open table fellowship". that means, he ate with anyone at any level of society. that does not sound like such a big deal, but in the time of jesus, being seen eating with the likes of tax collectors and hookers was akin to being a sexual predator now (somewhat). so, in the face of all of this societal pressure, jesus went out of his way to help and associate with outcasts of society. he would talk to the lepers, wash the feet of women, eat with tax collectors, allow hookers into his group of followers, etc.....

today, faggots are the new tax collectors and lepers. they are spit on by everyone in society. they are denied rights to marry, ostracized, and even killed for expressing themselves sexually with other men.

if jesus were around today, do you think he would be on the picket lines condemning faggotdom or at rage doing the cabbage patch with the queers? my guess is at rage with the queers. why? cause he believed that what you did to the least of man, you did to him. thus, excluding, denying, and attacking gays probably wouldnt go along with his creedo. accepting, loving, and befriending would.

i don't understand how so many christians miss this. how do they not see that jesus was a social revolutionary, and that to be more like jesus, they too should be social revolutionaries by exercising radical acceptance.

moreover, i dont get how they take lines out of the old testament that are anti-gay and give them more weight than the open table fellowship, which is almost pro gay (not quite, though), in the new testament, their book. wasn't what jesus said more important than some obscure quotes from the OT?

Somehow I think that the Church banned even thinking that homosexuals would be accepted cause it is/was "inappropriate" and scary.

If there ever was a person called Jesus that is supposed to be the ultimate good guy than of course he would say there's nothing wrong with homosexuals, heck, maybe even encourage more people to "come out of the closet" for their own good.

Historically, Jesus definately did exist.

It's his beliefs and actions that have been under scrutiny, heck I dont know what to believe.

I'll post again tomorow when my brain isnt telling me: "Wizzzzuzuuurrrr!!!" Like a broken coffee machine..

All I want is a cup of thoughts

Well, we can't know for 100% that he existed, but I see your point. Myself believe there was a guy named Jesus Christus or something who told about "you should love thy neighbur" etc, but I really don't think he was some son of God. That I think people after him said he was.

Actually we can know for 100% sure that Jesus did exist, documented proof can trace back to people who existed long before Christ, and he definately did.

Whether he was the son of a man who didnt exist legally, obviously cant be proven.

Of course we can't know he existed for 100%. We don't know anything by 100%

Heck, I don't even know the date of my birthday for 100%, only 99.99%

Hehe you seem like a conspiracy theorist.

Yeah, I suppose thousands of accounts and files and legitimate proof still isnt 100% proof as bigger and more proven things have been altered and faked, but I regard him as definately a part of history. To me, he existed :)

But I dont believe in the stuff he did. I'm not high enough right now.

Nah, I'm just very critical, which a lot of people should learn to be. ;)

Believe and know are two different things, almost everything we "know" we just "believe", since nothing is impoaaible, just very unlikely sometimes.

A few years ago I would have completely agreed but somewhere down the line I decided my head would explode if I kept analysing things in such a way.

I'm naturally a person who debates a lot, and its hard to get into a debate if you arent sure of the basic 'facts'.

But your way is fine, I just choose an easier way of thinking.

Oh I do too mostly, but I was in the IB program for a year where we had Theory of Knowledge which focus on that we don't know anything, so I'm a bit brainwashed. :P

Not the Baccalaureate! :stunned:

Sorry but that seems kinda like a government funded cult. Hehe sorry.

Hah, maybe it is a bit, but it was fun, I switched though, didn't get the subjects I choose, grr..

thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard...the bible says beign gay is wrong, therfore jesus is NOT for it. BUT he loves everyone..he loves straight people as much as he loves gays...

Jesus didn't write the bible. People has always misinterpretated eachother. But sure, the possibility he was for it is as unclear as anything else in that book.

A shame it's written that homosexuality is wrong in the bible. A lot of things in there are bull imo. But hey, I see it as historic fact.

What are you two even debating about? You both agree with eachother.

Thats what she said:

Jesus LOVES all people, including homosexuals. And loving someone is embracing them in everything that they are, including homosexuals.

Which adds to how Jesus, and religion, completely contradicts itself. But as long as people have something to believe in, it stops the breakdown of society in our modern world, and yeah I'm cool with that.

Haha. It's simply fun to argue sometimes. ;)

Still I'm a bit sad about how people claim they're doing stuff for "the greater good" or "In God's name" when what they are in fact doing is just being selfish and making up excuses to rape and plunder. *Thinks of Spanish Inquisition and crusadesÄ

the bible and god are agaisnt things such as teh crusades..HUMANS made up religion to suit their own purpose and justify things such as that....religion is wrong and false....

Sharry you could apply that to the beheading's going on in the name of Allah right now in Iraq. Sometimes I wonder if religion brings more division then kinship.

Still, I feel people are united within their own communities and thats the most important thing. Culture clashes are less awful then civil wars.

Why thank you.

I instantly thought of the part in the old testament about slave owners. What rightful God would claim people are worth the same and then say "hey, here's a slave, nit and pick!" Tss...
