And an_cat, I used a mechanical pencil and then an 8B on the outside and darker shadings.

 

And I've gotten quite good at scraggly beards. ;)

It's a sketch, not a painting. :D And it took oer 3 hours. Record time for me.

 

But It started out as being a realism and then turned more stylistic so I just messed around with it.
