August 15, 200817 yr may i ask which bands aren't a disgrace? i cant believe people actually have the time to go onto threads of bands which they dont like and bag them out. get a life!!
August 15, 200817 yr "bands" like wolfmother and jet are a disgrace So why are bands like Wolfmother and Jet a disgrace?
August 15, 200817 yr shame their gone(original ine-up anyway).....their album had alot of tunes on it like :D one of which sounded alot like black sabbath.....is it a cover? :laugh3:
March 25, 200917 yr ^^ did an awesome job at Sound Relief playing Sydney and Melbourne on the same day. last weekend they rocked a major motor racing event which was their first formal outing as a band. not to sure about future tour dates. but an album towards the end of the year sounds great albeit almost 2yrs late considering the debut record came out in 2005!!
May 4, 200917 yr WOLFMOTHER Thread Noticed that nobody had anything about Wolfmother, one of the great Australian bands. Second Album 'Cosmic Egg' is out in September this year. One of the new songs off the album is FREE on their website, http://www.wolfmother.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- They're even playing with Slash at the moment! Wolfmother gets Slashed Local News by JackT, 4th May, 2009 Mixed metaphor master Andrew Stockdale has revealed to the triple j brekkie program that Wolfmother has been jamming with Slash. The legendary Guns ‘N Roses guitarist (also known as “a cancer” if you speak to Axl Rose) joined Stockdale and co. in LA’s Sunset Studios. The frontman told triple j: “I had a guest in last night. Slash. I’m serious! We might be doing a song so we were just playing around with some ideas and stuff.” Wolfmother’s second album (its first with the new personnel) is indeed set to be named Cosmic Egg. When speaking with triple j, Stockdale reiterated the yoga-teacher-egg-pose-genesis story he told NME recently. September is the mooted release date…with or without a Slash solo. May 4, 200917 yr Noticed that nobody had anything about Wolfmother, one of the great Australian bands. LIES!!!
May 5, 200917 yr that interview with stockdale was sooo random. triple j just decided to call up the studios where wolfmother were recording and asked if they could speak to stockdale. and since triple j played a massive part in making the band so incredibly successful he happily obliged. i expected a very safe diplomatic interview from him but instead he blurted out all these things about the new album. he also spoke about the recording process. they have completed 5 songs (at the time of the interview) and plan to record 17 in total which should be done by june. they will then go to the london studios of their producer to finish mixing the record. VERY EXCITING!!
May 6, 200917 yr well not all 17 will make their way onto the album. they will most probably have 12 on the album and the remainder as B-sides
May 6, 200917 yr Wikipedia would suggest otherwise. And it's sourced twice that there will be 18 songs ON the album.
May 6, 200917 yr 18 songs by a band like wolfmother would mean a double album and i highly doubt that is their intention otherwise he would of said that by now. but then again anything is possible but right now i'm taking andrews word over wikipedia. http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/05/04/wolfmother-introduce-us-to-new-songs-lineup-at-la-museum/ a review of a show the band did last night.
May 6, 200917 yr Dunno about a double album, Paul weller put out a single album (22 dreams) with 22 tracks on one CD... You're right, anything is possible and everything is speculation at the moment. But exciting nonetheless. They only played 3 new songs? Need to find some audio of the 2 of them (white feather, cosmic egg) that I haven't heard yet..
May 7, 200917 yr you can only fit 75mins of audio onto one cd. with 17 songs that would mean each song would have to be around 4.5mins long. wolfmother's first album was popular for its prog rock elements and a handful of 5min+ tracks and those were the best ones. and to be honest right now i think a regular 12track album is all the bands needs to do.
August 16, 200916 yr first single from new album premiered on triple j this week. this is what it sounds like [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgpDx5vW_os]YouTube - Wolfmother NEW SONG New Moon Rising[/ame] what do we think? i cant believe the band is struggling to sell out small theatres around australia. i remember less than 2yrs ago they did 2 sold out nights at a much much bigger venue. but i think most people are like me and are waiting for the band to release the album and then make a decision on whether they like the band anymore or not. and they're supporting the Killers in the states!! WTF
September 11, 200916 yr I quite like Wolfmother, but I'm afraid New Moon Rising one just doesn't do it for me. Maybe I'm being picky, but the way he says 'turning' and 'rising' etc bugs me, and I just... don't really like it :(
September 12, 200916 yr it was a great tragedy in australian music when they broke up. they had the potential of becoming one of our best bands ever. i just dont see that happening now. i actually think New Moon Rising is a pretty good track but i hope there are some more interesting tracks on the new album.
October 4, 200916 yr ^^ unfortunately it wasnt deemed good enough to be on the new album which has been postponed again and wont be out until late october now. i've read a couple of reviews so far and they've both been negative, but wolfmother didnt really get all that much criticial acclaim for their debut either and that was freken awesome.
October 16, 200916 yr [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH-77yEYqQQ]YouTube - Wolfmother New Moon Rising Jools Holland Later Oct 13 2009[/ame] every interview with andrew i've read these last couple of weeks they've asked him about New Moon Rising. and everytime he has brought up how they played the song at my uni (macquarie) and how it just went off like crazy. :smug: i feel special.
