Is it safe downloading videos from Limewire??

Featured Replies

I was just wondering because I haven't tried and I don't want to regret it later  and if yes then what type of file should I download cause i'm not very experienced in this field :)

Yeah I have got a few Coldplay videos off of there and I have never had any problems.

im using it too and havent encountered any problem yet.but a friend of mine said limewire had brought virus to his computer

Limewire does have viruses, all p2p programs do. Use iTunes for the sake of morality and safet.

I refuse to pay for music so :P

I've downloaded from Limewire too and no viruses. Of course you have to be careful, any P2P programs can give anyone a virus. Not just Limewire.

Oh thanks everyone...I just wasn't sure if I were to regret it laterwards and end up having a virus taking over my computer!! :)

just look for files over 192bitrate :)

Limewire is good for Mac or Linux users,i used to have it...for 1 day on my Microsoft's Windows :wacky: then my pc got infected, after that i don't use it,i prefer emule

I heard something today which is scary. According to sources, the BPI have been putting "dummy" files on limewire which have tracking inside them, so when you download them, they know you have and will send a lovely letter.

So just be warmed, if their is a rare file on limewire, look before you download, or mr :bobby: will be knocking on your door.

:) Thanx for that I would have never guessed they would do something like that but i've been very aware and i've noticed those dummy files in at least every search that I do!! :stunned:

just be careful when you download ANYTHING from the net. Specialy P2P like limewire. and dont EVER download porn off those, it'll most likely have some kind of virus or spyware on it.

You get spyware from everywhere now. The most are cookies, but you get it from anywhere with adverts

Luck of the draw Limewire is. I was a kazaa user back in the day (hell, i was a napster user WAY back in the day) and i tell ya, all it takes is one file to fuck you over. i dont know what keeps me coming back for more russian roullette though. oh wait yea i do, it's the free shit i can get. programs videos audio etc etc. i can even get term papers or essays...LOLLERSKATES AND LOLLERBATES WITH ROFLCOPTERS ARMED WITH LMAOMISSLES! ok i'm done.

you shouldn't download cracks, key gens, serials and all cos they can come with spyware. And make sure if you're downloading, say, a movie, don't be silly and download it if it's 10kb...*virus* :)
