Interesting results, for me personally U2 is ahead of Coldplay but since this is a Coldplay forum no suprises there. I'm a little suprised the Kaiser Chiefs made it and also that Franz Ferdinand made it to the top 10.

honestly i'm surprised too with Kaiser Chiefs,Franz Ferdinand nad Keane as well (i voted for them but i didn't think they'll get a lot of votes :/ ) i think it's normal that Coldplay won,we're on cping.com as you said briggins,i aslo think people here has a good taste in music... :rolleyes: well,i got votes for Westlife or Rachel Stevens as well,i don't know maybe they were jokes...everybody has his/her own taste :wink:

The top 5 is what I expected, number 1 Coldplay, number 2 Beatles, and then a fight out between Radiohead, Oasis and U2 for the rest of the top 5.

it's not a surprise that Coldplay won,maybe they're not the greatest but it would be strange if they wouldn't win at "home" :wacko:

i'm glad that Beatles (who are maybe the greatest) are at the 2nd place :thumbsup: although i didn't think at the beginning they will make top 5...they were in a big race with u2 for the 2nd,U2 was leading at the end with 15-20 points,but the last 2-3 days changed everything.Radiohead 4th and Oasis 5th,i think no surprises here as well.Queen 6th (a very big surprise for me!).never thought that "a classic rock band" will get more than 100 points,anyway they really deserve it. The Verve and Mr.Richard Ashcroft are legends,but i'm not sure they would make the top 10 if Ashcroft wasn't touring with Coldplay (only my opinion),but deserved 7th place i'm sure.

I am actually really interested to see what would happen if this poll was done in a neutral setting. I mean its no surprise that coldplay got no 1. The surprise might be that it was with such a big margin. Yet they are at home...

 

I want to see what the result would be if there was a vote for the best band in the world ever. With all the bands and singers and everything that ever was in music in the list. It would be really really interesting.
