Just got back from my third Coldplay concert, second in 2 nights.I went to the oakland one last night and tonights was way better! It was the exact same setlist except they played The Hardest Part instead of Swallowed in the Sea.I was a ways away the other night and tonight i was 16 rows from the stage.I think that had something to do with it.The whole show was great from start to finish.Everyone song was great.During In My Place when chris run into the crowd he ran right by me!!He was inches from me!I tired to touch him but i missed!lol. He pretty damn fast.My friend i went with got it on video though! But it was awesome! They played the hardest part which was really good actually!I like the song to begin with it an they played it well and chris was at the piano.

He was very talkative again with the crowd. He said before coming out the manager dave said he looked like one of the Bee Gees with is big hair lol.And he sang bits of Bee Gee songs through the night lol in a high ass voice lol.He also said this is our first time playing in San Jose and its like having sex for the first time. You want it to be the best sex ever! But my first time i didnt last too long not even close to an hour an 45 mins lol!He said something along those lines. It was funny. And he said something about California having hot girls an since they are a big band they can get hott girls or something like that lol it was funny though. But it was an awesome night i cant wait til i see them again!

Setlist:

Square One

Politik

Yellow

Speed of Sound

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

X&Y

How You See The World

Dont Panic

White Shadows

The Scientist

Til Kingdom Come

Ring of Fire

Trouble

Clocks

Talk

Encore:

The Hardest Part

In My Place

Fix You

Hardest part back on the setlist...they're trying to confuse our ideas

Thanks for this review

They're really confusing things now! Thanks for the setlist and review!

arrr! WHY (Hardest Part!)...if they want it so badly in the set, don't replace Swallowed In The Sea with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Replace X&Y or How You See The World or something! (although I really like those songs and want them to stay in the set). I really don't think it'll be the new single...or else they'd ALWAYS be playing it...

He also said this is our first time playing in San Jose and its like having sex for the first time. You want it to be the best sex ever! But my first time i didnt last too long not even close to an hour an 45 mins lol!

ROFL!

thanks for the review!

//edit: ah, I've got a question: is don't panic no longer acoustic?

^ ooo yeah good question. ( I hope it isn't acoutic anymore!) It would be a nice change up.

if Don't Panic isn't played in acoustic, it will be a tragedy for me... :/

dunno, because I really love both versions. but it doesn't seem to be in the acoustic set anymore?

edit: ohhh, it's actually on the coldplayer, you can listen to the intro! :) so I can anwser my question myself, it's no longer acoustic...

there's also the bit with the bee gees, so funny. :D

haha! the intro on the coldplayer is hilarious!

I really do love both versions. but I have already experienced the acoustic one live. yippee I can barely wait the 20 days !!!

Haha two of my teachers went. I wasn't able to go...

Thankies IneedYou23, :)

Fecking The Hardest Part. :embarrased: It worries me! Soon I'll start losing hair over this like a Year 2002-03 Chris

And I keep wondering when they'll replace Ring of Fire with Walk the Line.. I hope soon.. at least by March!

Im sure by march the setlist should be a little different.Like one of the tour diaries said they change some things up to stay interested or whatever u want to call it lol.But hopefully you guys will get to hear some b-sides played or even new material like they did on the Rush tour.

we should think so... ;)

Last night's concert was great, everything from the first song to the last was great. I was in the 16th row and I couldn't believe how close I was! "Talk" and "Yellow" were two of my favorites. This was my first and hopefully not last Coldplay concert. :D The only downsides to the night were that I got a flat tire two blocks from the HP Pavillion and 4 drunken women had to be seated in front of me. All they kept on doing was getting out of line, shouting and saying "I love this song!!" I almost got into a fight with one of them too.

IneedYou23: Nice recap. I was at last night's show too. I loved it! I'm still raving about it today. I was in the 16th row too, were you in column 3?

I couldn't believe Chris mentioned the Bee Gees because, as a joke, I played "Stayin' Alive" on the drive up. Pure coincidence.

concert

I went to all three shows the last few nights and I am exhausted! :) But I had a great time. I am trying to figure out which show I liked best. The Oakland and San Jose were very similar to me... but I was closer at Oakland and felt the crowd was more into it (or maybe it was because I was closer) but I wasn't THAT much closer. The people around me at the SJ show kept sitting down and they didn't seem that into it... they even left early (right before FIX YOU!) which was a real tragedy to me. That was my fav. part with the light... so damn good. I also really liked the tribute to jouhnny cash bit.... everything was awesome. My only wish is that they would change the set list around a little bit more. After seeing three shows... you really do see just HOW choreographed everything is... even down to when Chris gets on the floor or leans back on his head when sitting at the piano. I don't mind that, but wish there was a wee bit more variety from show to show. Not a lot... just a little. I would think it would make it more interesting for them also. I like it when Chris talks. In Sac, he said he looked like Napoleon Dynomite ;) and then the Barry Gibb reference last night.

Well.. that is it... I love them and am sad they are gone :( I have seen them many many times... first show I saw was about 5? years ago? maybe 6? I don't remember... but they have improved live wise SO much and I think they are the greatest.... can't wait to see them again. :)

I went and it was awesome- as usual. The set list was great- I love Colplay...period. Who cares what songs they play we get to hear them live!!!!! It was hillarious when they would randomly bust out in Bee Gee's songs. What more can I say it was Coldplay!

andthesunshines:Yea i was in row 16 column 3 too!I was with my friend we were in seats 13 and 14 the last 2 on the edge. The side right where chris ran by on his way into the crowd.Where were you?

How many people do you think were there? The HP seems huge.

you know what i miss the most since they published x&y and started the tour?

the fact that they don't play any more bits of future songs, like amsterdam on a gig in 2001! :/

Me too!! Often the early version of songs sound the best, even. The early 2001 version of GPASUYF is so incredibly mind-blowing. I love it to itty-bitty bits. It would be so crazy if they played material that is on the works.

Thanks for the reviews everyone. Sounded like great shows! That's funny about the Bee Gees bits. At least they throw in small silly things like that to keep things a little interesting, right? Small blessings, small blessings.

IneedYou23: Awesome! Now I wish I had been on that side haha. I was at the opposite end with my friend in seats 1 and 2. I had a pretty good view from where I was sitting.
