Murder Suspect At Sacramento Coldplay Concert

Featured Replies

I dont know if you all seen this but omg. :o

Edward Wycoff began planning in September how he would approach his sister and brother-in-law and kill them, he said in a jail interview Friday.

"What I wanted to do was get rid of them, leave no evidence, and get out," said the 37-year-old Citrus Heights man. "And then raise the kids later on."

Wycoff is charged with murder in the stabbing deaths of Julie Rogers, 47, and her husband, Paul, 48, early Tuesday morning after breaking into their house where they and two of their three children slept. A special circumstance of multiple murders makes him eligible for the death penalty.

Wycoff said he went to a Coldplay concert on Monday night at Arco Arena in Sacramento -- the first concert he had ever attended in his life. He said he didn't drink or use drugs, which he says he never does.

"I thought it could be a bit of an alibi," he said. "It seems like somebody who goes to a Coldplay concert wouldn't do this."

Can you believe that.

I dunno.

What is wrong with people.

Money is not more important than lives.

CREEPY ! SCARY ! Bbbbrrrr ... Don't wanna ever read anything like this again in my life  :stunned:

OMFG!

That's awful!

OMG..WTF he has in his stupid mind  I really can't believe what people can do :/

:stunned:

that is so.... scary.

Well.......................everyday those things happen....the fact that he murdered is nothing special to me......but the scary thing is:How shall we as Coldplay fans see this now?Good or bad?

Bad at the point that he muredered after a Coldplay concert etc.....but good at the point that Coldplay fans seem to have the image of being peaceful people.....this is confusing!

It's a sad sorry for that poor family, but it is amusing that he thought just by going to a concert the day before the police would go 'oh well, can't have been him then'. I think the message of the story is just - what a dickhead!

We shan't see this in any way..

They guy is just a freak which choose to take the lives out of two people, I think it would have been the same if on Monday there would have been, I don't know, a Spice Girls concert, or an Elton John one..

Only fate made COldplay concert happen on that day, obviously they are not responsable, that murder shall just burn in hell, that's his reward.

That's what I think, sorry for the rudeness...

No one can do much about psychos. It's terrible, but that's the truth. And I don't think it has much to do with Coldplay.

Yes of course it has anything to do with Coldplay, they're not responsible if someone loses his mind by killing two people (and also planning this and the fact that going to see them would have saved him)

Well.....I don't get the point of this thread.....what is the point? For me it seems as if the point was:There was a man who killed two people..........!And?I mean this happens every day......and I don't see a big connection with Coldplay now......so I thought ok lets post:"How shall we feel as coldplay fans now?Good?Bad?......".....but this seems not to be the point of the thread......so for me it seems a bit senseless......sorry.........and Xadajoda...therefore I agree with you!

And to the one who created this thread:this is not meant in an angry way or something like that! ;)

^Yes, I think all of us are interested in Coldplay related things but I agree with you and Baura too concerning the fact that it could've been any other concert so here it's not that important.

But thanks for the info, Mandy! I haven't heard it before :stunned:

Well, from the murderer's POV he seems to think that Coldplay fans are harmless [well, we are - well I am!], therefore, it would not draw suspicion, if he used that as an alibi.

Quite calculated IMO. He definitely knew what he was doing and it seems he has no remorse because his mission has been accomplished. He wiped two people off the face of the earth.

It's a sad thing when people take the law into their own hands because at the end of the day, he hasn't won...

"I thought it could be a bit of an alibi," he said. "It seems like somebody who goes to a Coldplay concert wouldn't do this."

creep.

Well, obviously the fact that the guy likes Coldplay is totally irrevelent to the fact that he's a murderer. It's like how people stupidly blame U2's song 'Exit' for the death of someone (I think it was an actress?) or the Beatles' 'Helter Skelter' for Charles Manson's evilness. It's just an unfortunate coincidence.

"I thought it could be a bit of an alibi," he said. "It seems like somebody who goes to a Coldplay concert wouldn't do this."

I have no idea why that just made me giggle a little. lmfao like the jury is going to overlook mountains of forensic and circumstantial evidence just because you're a Coldplay fan.

Prosecuter: "Your own blood was found on the victim's bodies. Your shoe was left at the crime scene and you had the victim's blood in your car. Now, I just have one last question: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SONG, MAN! I WANT THE TRUTH!"

Defendent: "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH! And it's 'Yellow'"

Prosecuter: :o "No! My entire case is ruined!!!! HE LIKES COLDPLAY!!! He can't have done it!!! :bigcry: "

Jury: :o "NOT GUILTY! No one who likes 'Yellow' could have killed someone!!"

What the hell. Dumb criminals.

Unfortunately, the wretch doesn't like Coldplay. He just used them as an excuse...
