Plastic Surgery

What do you think of it???

I was watching one of those tv programmes the other day about someone who wanted to look like a famous person...blah..blah..

I was thinking, why? I may be being naive, but I dont understand people who want to get the surgery. I mean why not stay the way you're born? I understand there is exceptional circumstances but I dont agree with it.

I think if women really "suffer" from their body then plastic surgery is ok...I mean if they have serious psychological problems....but if they look good and don't have problems then it's stupid!

even if they DON'T look good...as soon as a person can get comfortable with their own skin...the sooner they can be s a t i s f i e d

but i think in special cases like burns or accidents taht leave disfigurations (or birth defects and that) is okay...because it was unintentional defects...you know?

But those men and women that cant "stand" themselves...that is just lame!

I saw this one about some guy who wantes nice calves...he had surgery and then they did not stich him up right so his leg started gushing blood..that man was so shallow it made me sick!!!

orrrr those ladies who surgery themselves crazy so they look like barbie...yeah, they make me sick sick SICK!!!!

..I mean if they have serious psychological problems....but if they look good and don't have problems then it's stupid!

agreed

I agree with Crystal. ;)

On both counts, scecial cases, like burns are exceptions.

And people who have surgery, then have it again, then again.... :/

it's a waste and all in the name of VANITY!

It is getting rediculous..but of course everyone has their own choice and blah blah..and soon this will become super normal that everyone will be getting more surgery for menial things...

till we allll become barbies :o

i saw a report about how girls for their quinzeañeras (latin equivelent 15th b-day celebration to the american sweet sixteen) ask not for the traditional party or car/$..they are asking for breast augmentations!!! These girls are 15!!! That is NUTS people!!! :freak:

:o 15??

I thought girls caked in make-up at like...13 was bad!

yes!! I know..i was so upset when i heard that news....these girls are so young and i just KNOW this issue of plastic surgery will become a norm...and no one thinks of the negatives of this issue...like the dangers...they think...oh nothing will go wrong with MY surgery...buy people have DIED because of these surgeries cuz there are all these "new"surgeons practicing and they have no idea what they are doing! THey are just trying to cash in on the boom that is plastic surgery :stunned:

awe man..this world sucks more and more :/

I'm going to be honest, if I could look better, I would. There's no way in hell I'd go through plastic surgery though, the pain, the waiting, the money, and all for something that isn't guaranteed. In fact, you rarely ever see someone with facial plastic surgery who looks genuinely good and natural.

^that's so true.

I think that plastic surgery can be incredibly beneficial to a person who's had an injury. Someone my mom works with was bitten by a dog on the face. She's completely disfigured... For a person like that it is almost mandatory (sadly, this particular person can't afford the procedure :/ ).

I was looking through Enquirer magazine (or one of those shitrags) the other day because my grandma subscribes to it. There was a whole section dedicated to plastic surgery "evidence" for the stars. It's sad what's happened to a lot of them. Looking at the before and after pictures, the before almost always looks superior.

What's the tragedy with these people is that they don't have anyone to say NO. Michael Jackson is the most obvious example. He's got so many people in his pocket, who are getting paid enormous sums to reattatch his nose to his face. They're not about to say "Sorry, Mike, but I really think removing that cheekbone is going to look shit." when they're getting paid a million or half a mil to do it. (I don't know if I would  ;) )

But you still hear of people re-morgaging their houses to get the surgery...its not only the mega rich.

In a way, they're worse...I mean I saw a programme bout someone who was saving up for a family holiday but then used the money for plastic surgery. :dozey:

Oh, I wasn't trying to say it was only the mega rich who do it. They're just the most obvious examples. I've seen tons of people in real life walking down the street who have obviously had work done. Just to look better, at that. It's so, so sad...

"No, honey. You can't go to that college because mommy needs a new face lift. Sorry."

If somebody wants to look better there's no reason why they shouldn't do it, but I get chills when I see those monsters like Joan River that seem to be addicted to them

EWE OK JOAN RIVERS IS A FUCKING PIG

Sorry. I don't like her. :wideeyed:

seriously...this surgery figuration is out of hand ..and the cases are just getting younger and younger. I agree that even the people without the mega bucks to do it..would rather get augmentations or face jobs, than save the money for thier kids or useful things..i am sure that somewhere along the road..i will see an old dirty scraggly dresses hobo... BUT ....with a wrinkleless face from the magic of surgery..that put them in debt...(under all the smudge, that is)
