Are You Afraid of Getting Older?

Featured Replies

I would be considered old here in the Forum, but i have two amazing kids, a wonderful husband, house, job that i actually like, dog etc. But i am scared of getting older, i see my parents failing in health and it sucks, I did loose a lot of friends on 9/11 who were young, so you just have to live your life to the fullest. I should consider myself lucky to grow old. One good thing that comes with age is balls, knowledge and not caring what people think. but i would not want to go back and do it all over again, i wouldnt change a thing. I am a very lucky girl.

how old r u?

im sorry to hear about your friends in 9/11...

but all those qaulities u said - that's exactly what i meant in my previous post...

i think that as i grew older my attitude towards things became more positive and sort of less caring because i stopped being a childish teen, and then things just seems better !

and health is an issue... but if u work out and eat right u can keep your good health :D

my grandma is 85 and u could never tell !!!

^you are right, i run, exercize by jumping around the house listening to Colplay, stay out of the sun and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!!

the thing is that i found that the older i get the more i seem to be enjoying myself... i mean, i like myself and my life alot more than i did 2 , 4 ,6 years ago...! Things just seem to be getting better....

im scared of when that's stop !

I wish I could say that in 3-4 years!!!!

I like growing up, bring on independence and wisdom! :D

I'm good, thanks!! How about you?? I've missed you so much! It's great to hear from you again! :nice:

I think the older I get the more scared I get because I don't want to be alone, which at the moment I am and have been for a while now. I look far younger than my age, so thats abit weird really because when people find out your age and then look at you like you just fell off mars or something!!!! I also get worried that I am over 30 but not in a good job, don't have my own home, and the longer I don't do something about it the harder it will be to do something about it!!!

im good.... back to being home alot and being kind of bored... !!! that explains my sudden return to this forum !

People think I'm in high school when I'm actually a recent college graduate, so I have that same problem with looking younger than I am.

And yeah, I wish I could just freeze the clock at age 22 and stay here forever, lol. Maybe one day science will figure out how to do that. But in the meantime I guess growing old would be OK as long as I have enough money in the bank and plenty of great friends to hang out with.

it's only sad when more age is not equal to more wisdom and people just act in really stupid and pathetic ways even if they're like 70 years old...

you're not old.. and if maybe you're older than the average people on here.. you look like you have a great family and a good life, that's great :D... I'd love to say that in some years too

I look forward to getting older, for all the above stated reasons.

Speaking of age, whats everyones opinion on age differences in relationships?(to lazy to bother with a new thread, lol)....

What s the biggest gap in years you would be willing to have in a relationship with someone?

Or what in your opinions, is actually (socially) accepted? Does the opinions vary from country to country, you think?.........maybe off topic, sorry, just my ponderings... : )

Oh Lore, you just made my day!! thank you. But will i look silly in my Prom Dress? hehehehehe.

Haha yeah this forum is pretty much my life. :P

So what's new with you?

well, I think that getting older can be very exciting, although it means lots of responsibilities.... :inquisitive:

I'm gonna freak out the min i turn 30 :disappointed:

The main thing isn't what you look like but what's in your mind whatsoever your age is. I've got a 22 years old daughter and my favourite bands are Coldplay, Muse and U2, believe me or not. I feel 25 in my mind and physically I still look much younger than my age. I prefer to have younger friends because we often have the same tastes. In the long run, I've got a good experience about older people and I could say that my means of being disappointed, I'm now getting used to it apart from some exceptions. To remain young, the best is to hang out with younger friends.

I look at my life ahead of me right now and ask myself how I can possibly do everything I want to do. On one side its exciting and on the other side its daunting. I believe I am too ambious. Maybe one day I'll figure it out.....When the sun comes out

I wish my mom would love these bands ... I had to go alone to my first concert ever

no one of my friends liked U2... now luckily I've got friends who like the same music as me, so life is not sad anymore :P

My mum loves coldplay , travis and radiohead :wacky:

she should adopt me then :bigcry:
