Low or White Shadows but The Hardest Part????

I don`t think that

The storyline for the video sounds interesting though... I can't wait!

Why don't they just release the whole freaking album as one song, like Green day did; 'cause it's the only way you can appreciate it. I think the song X&Y would have been a good release, but w/e. The Hardest Part better have a good "relate-able" movie to connect to the average joe.

Just listening to Q radio through my TV and the DJ played it and then said we are going to get an EP featuring live tracks from the Twisted Logic Tour! Sounds good! Except I don't like THP as a single...

I prefer Square one or White Shadows, but the video for The hardest part may be more interesting :smug:

GPASUYF didn't chart that well but I think we all love it - it will be interesting to see how a song that many of us are impartial towards will do with the great unwashed.

Thanks for the info hun! Did he say when?

Live tracks...sounds good to me!:)

Right-o! I agree.

I dunno, I much rather Swallowed in the Sea to be the next single, but I get excited for singles pretty much for the b-sides, so in the end it doesnt really matter to me because we're still getting 2 b-sides out of it, which have the potential to be fabulous. (I'm crossing my fingers for a studio version of Ladder to the Sun and one brand-new one that no one's ever heard...I hope they're great!!)

I heard on the radio that The Hardest Part will be a "non chart eligible single" because it will be an EP collection of live songs from the tour, which will be longer than 20 minutes (making it ineligible for the chart) and will only be available as either a digital EP or 12"

As for it being a single, i think it is an odd choice. I like it but i'm not even sure i'd rate in the top half of tracks from the album.

UK has stupid rules

The UK is very annoying when it comes to singles. If a band wants to put out a single with multiple b-sides, they have to release 2 versions of it because of that stupid rule about a single not being longer than 20 minutes or having more than 2 b-sides. What a bunch of bollucks. It's crap!

That being said, I think EPs are the most underated form of music!! People should release more EPs!

That being said (do you see a pattern here?!) Coldplay had better not rip off their fans and release an EP of all live stuff that we all already have. I hope this new EP doesn't have any of the live tracks that are on the Talk 3-disc set, and certainly we don't need another live version of Yellow (or any of the singles for that matter). I hope they include at least one cover song from the live shows.

That's how I feel anyway.

:)

Did anyone else receieve the new Coldplay email yet? I got it today and it says that The Hardest Part is going to be a RADIO ONLY single :stunned: I didn't realise this, i thought it was just to be a normal single you could go and buy in the shops or download. I'm a bit dissapointed about this cos it means we miss out on the b-sides :(

i suppose they couldn't realease a 2nd slower song after fix you' date=' tho what if would have been good. i wanted square one or low, they're preformance on the brits proves how good square one would have been.[/quote']

When they performed I was sure and happy that Square One would be the new single...

I hate The Hardest Part! Does someone feel the same?

It will confirm the wrong image that many people have of Coldplay again - that the guys are just a bunch of depressive, over-touchy, hopeless romantic crybabies! But Coldplay can rock, too! They should have released Square One or yeah, Twisted Logic, it'd galvanize the people, like every song against the madness of our modern world does. And people are not used to the "angry" Coldplay.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just heard on Radio City in Liverpool that The Hardest Part is being released on 10th April - did the DJ mean it's available to DOWNLOAD from 10th April or is it being released on CD? OR... is he talking about this EP with live performances from the Twisted Logic tour??? Oh the confusion. I too would have liked Square One to be released, that's so amazing, however it may 'undermine' it's status as a great 'opening song', if you get me? Twisted Logic would have been great also, very 'angry' lol, but I personally love The Hardest Part so I'm happy anyway :D

its an ok song to release. dont get me wrong tho, i love listeing to it on the cd, but i was hoping for White Shadows to be released next. that has radio potential. lol. but its all good as long there is a new coldplay song on the air waves.

the hardest part is good, although id have to say white shadows or A message would be a better choice

yea i think it will be an ok single but i agree with the suggestions of other songs cause there is at least A Message which would be a great single or Til Kingdom come with a live version would be great cause its better live but we'll see what else they put with the single

Yes I want it to be the next single.

I love The Hardest Part but not as a single. I was hoping they'd go with either Square One, Low or Twisted Logic.

I think we won't see any more singles until the next album
