February 25, 200620 yr "13.09.01 A MESSAGE I don't think I appreciated the full impact of the recent events in America until I sat down and tried to collect my thoughts and write something on the website. By now, nearly everyone in the world will have seen the footage of the catastrophic events that took place in New York, Washington and Pittsburgh and these are images which will stay in the minds of the people of the world for ever. Images which wouldn't look out of place in a Hollywood disaster movie, and ones that no one ever thought they would see in real life. Watching the TV as I write this, the speculation is that 20,000 people lost their lives, people from all around the world who knew nothing of the grievances the terrorists had with the West, who didn't understand the nature of and the reasoning behind the conflict, but who were the target of these attrocious acts of terrorism. On a global scale, the full impact of these events won't be realised for years to come, but what is immediately obvious is the impact on the friends and families of the innocent people who lost their lives. As a band , our thoughts, hearts and prayers go out to absolutely everyone who was involved or had friends or family involved in the tradgedy. And also wishes of a speedy rescue mission for the sake of those still alive under the rubble and for those families who still have loved ones unaccounted for. New York has always been a special place for our band as it has for many bands, it is also a place in which we have many friends as I'm sure many of you reading this will, once again our hearts, minds and prayers go out to all of them. Whatever the outcome of the next few weeks be certain that these events have changed the modern world forever, and the ease with which they were able to take place is perhaps the most scary thought of all. It has made it clear in my mind that all it takes is a few people to create such massive destruction and pain and suffering, and that life is far too short and unexpected to hold things back, to procrastinate or to not live every day like it could be your last. W." I love Will, that was years and years ago, but still very touching.
