Aww Josh you never came back to the thread! I thought you were put off by something, or something of the sort  Anyway, no idea about tour dates, you should wait for Tea for that kind of info, as she's the one that always seems to know EVERYTHING.

I got the audio of The Forum too but I'm not allowing myself to listen to it as I'm getting the DVD and I don't want to ruin the novelty :laugh3: Did that make any sense? Anyway, you know I mean.

Does anyone have a reviw from the accoustic at koko gig ?

Ok forgot , i found one

What a fantastic night at KoKo.

mary, you forgot to mention that Paul Weller was there too! :cheese:

So I'd bought these tickets back in August and at the time I thought 50 bleedin' quid each, that's a bit steep but hey it's for charidee and I do like Noel G.

Then when it was rumoured that DPT would be playing I thought result!.

Then it was confirmed that Kasabian were playing and I thought oh well...it is for charidee.

I was feeling really rotten today, very hard week at work, getting a cold again etc, so at about 6pm I set off in the car for Camden, with not that much enthusiasm. Anyway, I'm waiting at Mornington Cresecent tube, (with the touts!) for my mate ( who is late!); when who should walk past the tube station...Carl and Didz.! Oohhh I thought. About two minutes later, I see Tim Burgess ( sporting a top hat, as you do, but lookiong grand) and Roger Sargeant come out of the station. Interesting I thought. Finally my mate arrives and we join the queue. The place was rammed and surely it's been a long while since so many men, in their late 20s and 30s with Liam-a-like feather cuts have been crammed into such a small area!. I was never a massive , massive Oasis fan and in fact can say I've only ever been to one Oasis gig and that was in the 90s! So I'd forgotten that being in an Oasis crowd is akin to a cross between being in the stands at a football match (pre all seater stadiums) and a night out on the lash with your very, very drunk mates. Having said that the group of lads we were next to all night were lovely and very funny too. Liam was holding court in one of the boxes at the top and there were chants of Liam, Liam all night . I felt a little sorry for the Holloways as they did most of their set with the chanting going on but they took it in good spirits.

Russell Brand, who had annoyed me at the Paul Weller gig at the Roundhouse last week, was being actually quite funny I thought.

Anyway, he announced that DPT would be playing. Oh happy days. Suddenly the whole night took on a far rosier complexion. The boys got a really good reception and played a cracking acoustic set. mary how come Gary ( and indeed the lad from the Holloways) had to make do with a box/crate thing as a drum! when the guy with Noel G had a proper drum...they could have shared :)

The Boys started off with Chinese Dogs, lovely.

Doctors and Dealers.

Blood Thirsty Bastards got the crowd going.

B.U.R.M.A sounded really good.

Wondering was great.

Then Tim Burgess came on for Deadwood. He got an absolutely massive cheer. Not surprising really, I think alot of the crowd were my age group, and remember The Charlatans from 1990!. He had the words for Deadwood written out on a bit of paper  The crowd knew it better than he did.

Then, he did North Country Boy; with DPT accompanying. Another huge crowd pleaser. Oh my days, that song took me back. 1997. Second phase Charlatans :wow:

Then DPT finsihed the set with Bang Bang, which got the crowd singing. Bloody marvellous.

Well if that wasn't enough, Noel G then played a blinder. It was like sing along a Noel. We got all the favourites, It's Good to be Free, Talk Tonight, The Importance of Being Idle, Wonderwall, Cast No Shadow, Half the World Away, Don't Look Back in Anger and more! Oh and a really lovely cover of Strawberry Fields. Now as he started his set, my attention was however a little distracted, because from where I was standing, on the stairs, right hand side, first balcony, I could see the side of the stage, and I said to my mate: Paul Weller's there you know. Don't be silly I was told. But I can spot a be - suited, chain smoking Modfather a mile away. So when Noel G announced that his " good friend" was about to come on stage I was grinning like a loon as Paul Weller sauntered on , cool as hell. Crowd cheered like mad. They played Come on/ Lets Go, which is a Weller song from last year and then Thick as Thieves an old Jam number from the Setting Sons album, hurrah!. Paul then left the stage and was mobbed by a couple of shamless groupies who draped themselves over him and kept trying to hug and kiss him...yeah that's right Didz and Anthony!

After a technical hitch, Noel G came back for an encore.

All in all a fantabulous night out.

Better go and do some work now!

Oh and before I forget, comedy/ arghhh / :red: / :shut: moments of the night the more leary element in the crowd chanting get your tits out for the lads ( I think to Kelly Osbourne) who was DJing at one point!! Peaches Geldof and her little friend who do their DJ thing less than raptuous reception ( hahaha!) the guy who plays Jamie Baldwin off of Coronation Street off his head during the gig and swaying down the street outside KoKo as a group of lads shouted at him, 'Frankie's ya mum you dirty git!'

That review sounds awesome! Check a page or so back that Tea posted the audio to it :wink2:

Oooh Didzy should try and keep his mouth closed once in a while :laugh3: It's for his own good!

:laugh4:I know , thought he's still as charming as hell hahaha

Thanks Andy i was about to ask for the audio

Oh sure thing, he's very charming indeed :wink3:

Get it straight away, fantastic stuff :wideeyed: Plus Tim is in it and messes it BIG TIME in Deadwood :nice: Aw Timmmmmm, gotta love him!

(Was he ever in of the fics? I'm particulary interested :sneaky:)

Indeed :wink3: hahahaa

Im downloading the audio tomorrow

Ohh dont get me starting on the fics  im so left behind ...........im defenetly making some time to catch up with everything , i mean i havent been in the thread on like a week or so ! i've missed so many pages :(

Well im off Andy nite !

Anyway' date=' no idea about tour dates, you should wait for Tea for that kind of info, as she's the one that always seems to know EVERYTHING.[/quote']

lmfao. :laugh3: :shy:

I have no idea about Australia actually. The Libs did a tour over there back in the days but DPT hasn't yet... They might do when the second album is out which should be around spring sometime... I think there's gonna more/wider tours with it since they've kinda built a fanbase now :) So fingers crossed they leave London for once :laugh3:

And yeah, the Russia show was cancelled in time. Like a month before, it said that it was Peter's fault which sounds really fucking wierd.. :\ *crosses fingers*

http://www.sptimes.ru/index.php?action_id=2&story_id=19334

Babyshambles’ one-off Russian concert that was due in Moscow on Nov. 26 cancelled, the reason being “the fault of the band’s leader Pete Doherty,” the B2 club said in a written statement as this paper went to press.
