Yeah, Drew's irish but I think he was either raised in Spain or lived there.... either way he's fluent ;) With quite a damn sexy and acclectic accent.

Oh man, even I couldn't read it all at once, had to keep taking breaks. It's beautiful, isn't it? It gave some of the best images.... I think that it was in that fic that Carl finds Peter in the gutter and she says things about how he's like some sort of martyre figure.... I don't know, but I remember reading that just made me cry so hard, it was so beautiful. All I've ever wanted to do was talk to someone about it, and I'm glad that now I can ;)

And what Carl saw then stood out in his fevered recollections of the night as the most-memorable thing, the image burned into the backs of his closed eyelids like the pink-orange scars the sun leaves on eyes that look too intensely and too long; it was the thing he had wished to see for hours, yes, but it still made him stop stockstill, staring: Peter prone there on the sidewalk right in front of the flat, apparently unconscious, laid out flat with his hair streaming rivulets on the hard concrete, a similar single stream of blood running from his nose, his face scratched- he looked like all the martyrs of the world, Christ fallen beneath the cross, lashed by the whips of cruel sandalfooted Roman soldiers; at once Sainte Therese and Saint Sebastian bound and struck by arrows; Jeanne D’Arc crying Jesus three times atop her burning funeral pyre.

 

And Carl bent down like Mary Magdalene at Golgotha, the whore saved by the bloody water-into-wine sufferingheart of another, and stroked away the drop of blood from Peter’s clammy face without really meaning to, staring at the blood staining his fingers like mad Lady Macbeth.

 

 

This is the single greatest work of imagery I have ever read. I truly believe that if it weren't for that I wouldn't be writing in here, or even that much into the band. But I go so caught up in that whole story that.... well, yeah.

 

But just read that. God. I'm crying now, it's just INCREDIBLE. I hadn't forgotten, but, everytime I read it the power of it comes flooding back.

I had to read it all at once. Even when I cried and my heart was breaking cause otherwise I wouldn't have read it all. It gets to heartbreaking for me if I take breaks. That's probably why I just sat there stairing. I was totally amazed and that part. It's just so... that's art for you. True fucking art. And there was one part in one of the first ones, where it was all porn that just moved me so fucking much... Fuck, I gotta find it!

It really is art. I kind of idolize that fic, like the freakin' bible for me.... :laugh4: :(

Just going over my friends house tomorrow with lots of food and random stuff and Da Ali G Show DVDs I got for xmas... :laugh4: No booze cuz her parents are there. I'm fucking pissed about that, don't get me started! :laugh4: And uhm, watching ANderson Cooper count me down from Times Square. Yup.

Sounds pretty sweet to me! (well apart from the no-booze part, damn!) Ali G dvd's haha awesome!!! :cool: I used to love that show, the man's a genius.

 

Actually this reminds me, I better start looking on the net for places we can go, I don't even know where we're gonna go yet, which isn't good 'cos you need tickets for most places (or good places anyway) on new years. Eeek. :wreck: Ah well we'll find somewhere I guess. Transport in London is free on new years until 4.30am which is handy, I never knew that before!
