Well, the school system here is kinda weird but school is basically devided in three-ish stages, the third one is chooseable and there's no law that requires you to do it but you kinda gotta do it or you'll be unemployed your whole life.

When doing the third one you get to choose what you want to read. And at first I choose economics cause I paniced and like I said, was scared. And I read that for a year and then switched to culture cause it was just killing me. I'm rubbish at math. And the media/photo-course wasn't on my school and they didn't allow me to change school so I was either stuck with economy for three years or three years of culture and culture is more my thing then numbers and stuff. And you have to finish the last part if you wanna have a chance to get into anything after.

Did that make sense?

And no, I actually haven't done that one.

Thankyou so much Dani! That was really what I needed to hear.. it's so stupid really cause I've met some really amazing people that has just helped me so much during those four years. I was in a really bad stage of my life when I started there and they litterally kept me alive somehow. And like you say, I wouldn't have met them if I hadn't started there. God knows if I'd even still would've been alive but I am and for that I'm grateful and yeah, got another couple of years to do what I wanna do. Anyway, thankyou

edit: really? that's awsome Steph!

Yeah, well... 10ish? I mean you can register for a ticket from 1st of Feb to the 28th, so... and I mean you have to do it from either physically with a store (OMG AND YOU AHVE TO SEND A PICTURE OF YOURSELF!? WHAT THE HELL THIS IS HYSTERICAL SORRY CAPS BUT LMFAO) or online? So I'm figuring people from other countries can definately register online, right? ;) My friend Meg (you know her from myspace, Steph? meggga) and her friend Madelaine are going too, they're from Detroit so they're like WTF ARE WE US PEOPLE SCREWED?! but yeah I'm trying to say we're not, like when I got Oxegen tickets, I just had to specify that i was from the USA.... yeahhh. I really like this idea, I love Eavis! He's just the coolest and bestest and all around rad! :laugh4:

I can't waaaait! whoooot! Yeah I've got to plan my London trip around my family's Ireland trip, cuz I mean this is like my graduation present, and then we're going to Irelandia as a fam cuz it's their 25th anniversary and all that.... No clue how we're gonna afford it, but why the hell not :laugh4: It's all monopoly money anyways... :uhoh: shit!

Sounds fuckin' awesome her coming up, that'll be kickass! She's really cool, fucking love her art. I've been meaning to send her a message and add her actually!

Tea, it's amazing how different schools are set up in other countries... I mean I know how it's done here nad that's about it... like with the UK you guys have A levels and all that? I don't even get it! I mean I guess like you guys may not understand the whole SATs and ACTs and state tests and junior high and all that confusing shit we have to go through.... But here, I mean, you can pretty much transfer school at any time, and you have a choice to go to a public state school or a private one no matter where you're from.... I dunno if that's true for you guys....? What you explained does make sense, pretty much, to me! But I can't imagine going through it

EDIT:

and you're welcome Tea :nice: Sometimes I like to look back at my past and see the chain of events that lead me to... I dunno, like for example, lead me to posting here! :laugh4: It's funny, and really kind of weird thinking if I did ONE thing differently what would have happened... ameks me excited for the fuutre and what lies there ;)

edit:^ here is the same. We can transfer school without probs, and yes, we can go to a public or private school even if we're not from the country. What's more, most of European Unis have a kind of programm called Erasmus which you can study abroad during some months (from 3 months up to 1 year)... so imagine! I'd really like to "apply" for it!! :nice:

oh, I see! That means you must do the third stage, otherwise you won't have any option to find a future job. Here works completely different, though. If you leave your studies at the age of 16, which is perfectly legal, you shouldn't have any prob for finding a job (theoretically) - not a good one, but you could find a decent one -. And when you go to Uni, if you see that you don't really like what you chose for studying, you can leave the course and do another one. It's an odd systerm, your one.

too bad you spent that time reading echonomy / culture - whatever. Anyway, you're about to finish that this year, aren't you? so now it's your time! :)

Man, school/education systems abroad always sound pretty complicated compared to over here :stunned: I feel sorry for you guys!

But then again, they might be complicated but they are a billion times better than over here (our education system is fucked up) so in that way you're really lucky.

I wish i'd have gone to a good school, mine was an absolute shithole and I came out of it all with pretty much no grades to shout about and just scraped my way into uni. Which is why I refuse to piss away this chance, 'cos really, it's my last one.

I said something I've learned about life is you can never say something was a waste, or slam a door, or regret, because life can turn on the flip of a coin or turn of a car and you never know what will happen next. So I mean, what you're doing.... it's probably made you who you are right now even in a small way... Like I seriously hate my high school, ok, so at the moment I don't because I'm almost out and my classes are great so... ;) But it hasn't been a fun time for me, overall. Yet I know if I went somewhere else, or regretted going to Scituate I wouldn't be "Danielle", yanno?

Yeah, that's what I live by. Its perhaps one of the best advices I have ever been given, never throw and opportunity, who knows where it 'll get you. It builds you up,defines you, in the end, it could make you a way better person and more suited to wherever you wanted to end up in the first place :nice:

LMFAO yeah you have to send a picture, so that your ticket has your face on it, and therefore can't be touted on ebay. I'm gonna send a reeeally goofy picture, just for the crack :laugh3:

Ohh that's really cool you have people to go with! Meg seems awesome too! What a cool graduation prezi eh! :)

So far, i'm going on my own! :bigcry: No one I know wants to go to Glasto, they're all going to other festivals (more drug-fuelled ones   ) Fucking idiots. Gah.

I'm almost positive you should be fine doing it online, they must have thought about that. ;) I'm gonna do mine right away on the 1st. 'Cos i'm FUCKING EXCITED IT WILL BE MY FIRST GLASTO EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! and yeah, i'm generally just an eager beaver :goofy: :laugh4:

School systems here are so fucking complicated and at the same time so easy :laugh4:

Yes, 12th of June is the day of freedom! THANKGOD. lmao Should be a good day

I've never really gotten any other countries education system cause I hardly get our own at times. It's so... I don't know. It's just weird.

And shit, aren't you lucky Iris! It's fucking difficult to get a job here. Even working in some random store or whatever. You basically have to keep studying until you're 25ish if you even wanna have a chance and then they won't hire you cause you haven't got any experience. The only way to get jobs is really through contacts. Major suckage, again. That's why I love England. Apparently Swedish people have supereasy getting jobs there cause we're precived as positive and nice (wtf?! lmfao)

. That's why I love England. Apparently Swedish people have supereasy getting jobs there cause we're precived as positive and nice (wtf?! lmfao)

Yanno, i'm pretty sure that's true! :laugh3: ;)

Its easy to get a job here, my first job was when I had 17. Well, they werent exactly as CEO of a company:laugh4::laugh4: but I've had pretty cool jobs!

Me too Red. Good god i've had so many shit jobs over the years :laugh4:

Waitressing, working in a school, newsagents, a book shop, Starbucks...yeah, all pretty lame :laugh4:

Yanno' date=' i'm pretty sure that's true! :laugh3: ;)[/quote']

lmfao I have no idea why though! we're really not... :laugh3:

Going through the process of school... I just feel like it all suddenly makes sense. Like hanging out in a college admissions office for a couple hours LMFAO like... I was all "this is what I've been waiting for my whole life?" I mean I went to a private school when I lived in the city here (public schools in the city = baaaad here  it was the only choice), but other than that I've been in public school since I was 7.... It's really getting aweful, though. I just got by without having to do all this "portfolio" bullshit that the class of '08 and on have to do. Rubbish!! No Child Left Behind? FUCK THAT. fjd;sfjkldjk fuck the President and his shit agenda for education! It's screwing up so many people's public school lives....!!! but that's enough of a rant from me LMFAO yeah I mean.... it's messed up, but the application process was so much easier than I thought it would be.... well... after it's said and done, that is! Stressful as all heck when you're in it though. shit. LMFAO. Screw education. Love it, but I hate the process of it sometimes

Come with me, Steph! :laugh4: I don't know if my dad's gonna go with me... eek. He went to Oxegen with me and oh lord, that was a fucking experience for him... he said he'd never do it again. I'm fairly sure they won't let me go on my own (which I won't be anyways, with Meg and all) but... yeah. Who knows though! Haha, I'm totally doing the podpads too, bastards have GOT to offer it! me+a tent? bad idea! :laugh4: I'm really excited!!! I'm hoping I can get tickets, dude... I have to be up at like 3am when they go on sale where you are! oh my god! :uhoh: haha, just won't sleep I suppose! well alright enough on that from me... I'm sure we'll talk more about it as it gets closer, eh?

I'm totally gonna send in some retarded picture of myself....! hahaha

EDIT:

haha, 15th of june is when I graduate, Tea! Should be a REALLY REALLY great week for us, eh??  Coutning the hours!

12th of June?? that's quite near, really, and after waiting so many years for that days... you won't even notice there's a few months left until this day comes!

Well, regarding UK, I have heard on the telly and radio it's quite hard to study at the University 'cos the payment of the entire course is bloody expensive, for example, there're loads of people who've read nursing in my country who have moved to the UK in order to work over there 'cos they're more well-paid than here and also 'cos in the UK they don't have enough students of nursing. I've heard that people don't have enough money to pay their own studies - but they want to study - I even have heard... whoa, that's hard to believe, that some girls have worked as whores just for paying the studies. Unbelievable :stunned: I suppose it's only rumours or lies, or I don't know.

I didn't expect that, Tea. It shouldn't be that difficult to find a crappy-job, I think, 'cos most of people don't want to do it. haha, sorry, but I must say that your system doesn't make any sense at all... If you're "forced" somehow to study until you're 25, and afterwards, after all of your efforts, you don't find a fucking job, what are you supposed to do? there's any good solution for that.

Oh, probably you have more chances to get a job there because actually you're nice!! :nice:

Me too Red. Good god i've had so many shit jobs over the years :laugh4:

Waitressing, working in a school, newsagents, a book shop, Starbucks...yeah, all pretty lame :laugh4:

Lets see, I worked at a car dealer, a marble company, a library and currently at a tax/accounting office(Boring and tedious ) All veryyy shitty! :laugh4:

marble company! LMFAO that's so random!

I've just worked at my dad's office basically my whole life cuz I couldn't drive until like... a year ago.... :uhoh: I suck at raking in income! And I was going to get a job this year but wtf, now it's too late cuz all the holiday rush is over and I'm leaving anyways and I won't have any time. WTF! oh well! I'm quite hapy with my semi-free time lately ;)

It's really getting aweful, though. I just got by without having to do all this "portfolio" bullshit that the class of '08 and on have to do. Rubbish!! No Child Left Behind? FUCK THAT. fjd;sfjkldjk fuck the President and his shit agenda for education! No Child Left Behind? I never got that, made life hell for a lot of us. The president sometimes,

LMFAO, I've had the most random jobs ever! Marble company. That job was I think the coolest, i just had to smile and say hi to the customers and talk about the products. THAT WAS ALL! and it paid well too :laugh4: However, I had to stand all fucking day...yeah that hurt a lot.

IT WILL BE THE BEST WEEK EVER

It is really fucked up. And it pisses me of when you know you're better for the job but someone's who's dad know's the boss gets it. Has happened way to many time. I'M A GOOD WORKER. Like really fucking good.

Anyway, sleep time! Thankyou girls for letting me ramble and everything, I can not say enough times how amazing you are. Nightynight!

Night Tea, and that will be an awsome week!

Yeah, that's fucked up. Its like that everywhere really, but I guess in some countries its easier to percieve :(

well, maybe the best week will be the one we see Babyshambles!!! :D

that's sad, honestly, but you can't do anything, this is on your politcian's hands, I suppose. And it isn't fair at all!!!

Night Tea. I'm gonna sleep as well, I'm so tired that my body hurts.

last song: Breck road lover

Night Iris!

Oh god, yes that will be a one of the bestest weeks ever. EVER.

 It will be! I'm so excited!

is it sad that I really hope that no one tours in June, cuz I'll have finals and lmfao... yanno, if someone like DPT is playing Boston on the 15th (last year I saw Arctics on June 15th :uhoh: ) then I'd go to that and not graduation. my parents would kill me. KILL ME.

I'm scared because I would, though! :uhoh: omg. LMFAO.

Well graduation isnt all that jazz, you wait 12 years just to get a fake piece of paper and have a little walk with a cap n gown...

But nothing beats that feeling of freedom though

Very true! It's really stupid, but my two best friends are giving speeches (1st and second in the class, the whores LMFAO) and it'll be the last time I'll probably see a lot of people... so... might as well, eh?

Ahhh I plan on driving around my town after with my cap and gown still on (which I'm getting fitted for tomorrow omg!) and blast Springsteen's 'Born To Run' album. ahahaha
