Gwyneth and Guinness

Featured Replies

It’s so hard to keep track of all the things pregnant women should and shouldn’t do to keep their babies healthy. But an A-list actress like Gwyneth Paltrow could afford to hire her own baby health specialist to keep track of all the constantly changing recommendations if she wanted to. And Gwyneth just might have done so as she’s become one of the first celebrities to try a new recommendation: Guinness beer.

Paltrow and her husband, Chris Martin of Coldplay dined at sushi joint, Cube 63 in New York on Tuesday night. According to the New York Daily News, it looked as though Gwyneth was eating sushi - a no no for pregnant women. Then Martin purchased some Guinness and Paltrow drank one, further astounding the other patrons of the restaurant. "People were looking and waving, and she just tried to melt further into the corner," said a fellow diner.

Though Gwyneth’s rep assured NYDN that she did not eat any sushi that night, it was confirmed that the actress drank Guinness. Says the paper, “Some experts recommend a little Guinness for expecting mothers, because of the brew's high iron content.” That Gwyneth - always ahead of the trends.

anyway, if people are just stuck to her if she only drinks a beer, that's a bit stupid. Leave her alone !!!

lol wow. i dont think that i could deal with people inspecting my food and criticizing me for it. actually ive known some women who drink small portions of beer while pregnant... but i think if you are chugging down shots of vodka, yah there might be a prob... lol this article is funny though

good find

right ok,....different:laugh4: just leave them alone please lol

LYKE, OMG!1111 SHE DRANK BEER WHILE PREGNANT OMG SHE'S TRYING TO KILL HER BABY OMG IS SHE STUPID?!!1 OMG!11!!1

There's vege sushi btw...

lol yah i was just gonna add that there are other things in sushi places that you can have that isnt fish... like a california roll- purely imitation and DAMN good

My mom says she drank a certain amount of beer (or was it wine?) every month or so when she was pregnant with me, and hey I turned out fine! :drunk: :laugh4: :uhoh2:

I can see this getting a lot of crappy media attention...as if the silly names rumors aren't enough.

Is she allowed to walk down the street?! Or up stairs?! She might get hit by a car or fall.. omg, she should stay in bed all the time

God, I hate media.

lol i know....

how many rumours are out there right now? the baby ones, this one, god knows how many others there are... hopefully they'll give her a break seeing as she is due in about a month or so...

lol yah i was just gonna add that there are other things in sushi places that you can have that isnt fish... like a california roll- purely imitation and DAMN good

technically California rolls aren't vege, since they use fish to make the imitation crab :laugh3:

but yeah, there's a lot of vege sushi :D

I had this one vege roll cooked in tempura batter... SO GOOD. :dead:

anyways.... lol

:laugh4:

I love the way this thread which at first made me want to pull my hair out is now educating me about the types of sushi in the world :laugh4:

So random  and much less annoying!

lol good to know sushi can be veggie too

the article's technically incorrect anyway. Gwyn's not ahead of the times. 9 years ago my mate was recommended she have guinness whilst pregnant, as she had previously had problems with anaemia, and it was one of the easiest natural ways of boosting her iron levels. I think she was allowed half a pint every so often.

I thought Chris ate fish...

if he is what they say, a vegetarian, then he cant eat fish..

POLLO-/PESCO-VEGETARIANS: Pescetarians adhere to a vegetarian diet but also consume fish and seafood, while pollo-vegetarians round out their diets with fowl.

LACTO-/OVO-VEGETARIANS: Lacto-vegetarians include dairy products in their diets, while ovo-vegetarians eat eggs in addition to their greens.

VEGANS: The "truest" vegetarians, dietary vegans omit all animal products from their diet, including eggs, milk, cheese and honey. Bryan Adams and Alicia Silverstone are some examples.

MACROBIOTICS: Loosely based on Chinese medicine, macrobiotic diets eschew all processed foods -- including flours and sweeteners -- in favour of unrefined foods like beans, whole grains, seaweed, certain vegetables and fermented foods (pickles, miso, soy sauce). Think Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow and John Travolta, to name a few.

RAW FOODISTS: Usually vegan, these folks won't eat food with a temperature above 46.7C, claiming the cooking process kills essential enzymes and/or portions of each nutrient. Some warm their food slightly, while others activate enzymes by soaking their food in water before eating. Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson are practitioners.

FRUITARIANS: Taking things even further, fruitarians only eat foods that can be gathered without harming the plant (an attitude that typically arises from a holistic approach) and some only eat food that's already fallen off the plant itself. Diets include fruits, nuts and seeds, although some believe fruitarians are more susceptible to malnutrition than other vegetarians.

POLLO-/PESCO-VEGETARIANS: Pescetarians adhere to a vegetarian diet but also consume fish and seafood, while pollo-vegetarians round out their diets with fowl.

!? never heard about this one haha.. so they can eat whatever seafood they want? haha

Yeah, I was a pollo-vegetarian for a while. I didn't actually know that there was such a thing as a pollo-vegetarian until now. I would always say I'm a vegetarian..but I each chicken.

I should try it again because other than turkey, I really only eat chicken. I love chicken. :)

E! news did a segment on this in their show last night and had a pic of gwyn from the golden globes and said that she was "chuggin" down the beer.. lol but they said that a dr said it was ok.... the whole i was like, geez its just a freakin beer. if she was shooting up heroin, ok yah theres a problem....

well if ever i become preggers then that will by my excuse for it ''yes im getting pissed for the good of my baby'' lol

that was a joke by the way

Gwyneth is evil.
