  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Oh thank god! The expression is almost the same in Dutch, so I wasn't sure...

You mean the expression about having a weakness for something? Sure, that exists. :nice:

Absolutely that exists.. for example I have a weakness for Chocolate.. and other things beginning with C.. :D

hahaha i had this too a few days ago.. listening to coldplay and all of the sudden LIT starts playing and i'm like o whauw where does this come from? and i missed the phonecall hahha because i was enjoying the music too much

I have Charlie Brown as my alarm as well so I can wake up to a sound that isn't annoying, but sometimes I just let it play out all the way and it goes to snooze. That's bad...but eventually I wake up, eventually. :P

Happened to me too  I was at home and Clocks was suddenly playing, and I was like "Who is playing Clocks at the moment? Is it on TV?" And then I understood that it was my mobile phone LOL

Yeah hahaha I guess I'm not the only one who that happens to.

Awww, don't worry, this person probably has a I.Q. of -100000. I understand. Those things make me go crazy and so angry. But they are just stupid, they don't know what "respect" means and they're not even worth to think about them. Still I find it great and admirable that you defended Coldplay, I would have done exactly the same thing, I can't stand when people are so mean.

But don't worry and listen to this beautiful song to calm down. Hope the next days will be better for you :)

:o Chris is so adorable speaking French. We probably both speak the same amount of French. :P

That GMA performence(spelled wrong) was superb!

I can't decide! MX...or....XY...they should make an album combing the two of them! :smug:

edit...how do i delete a post?

That's exactly what they need to do... a combination of the synths and production of MX with the heavier stuff from X&Y  A combination of Hurts Like Heaven and Square One for example would me amazing :awesome:

Of course, a combination of Til Kingdom Come and Us Against The World would be equally great! :D

omg yes! I just learned how to play Swallowed In The Sea on my guitar..it's soo easy too! :awesome: :wacky:

omgomg...now What If :wacky:

Mixing Mylo Xyloto and X&Y together would be quite an interesting sound. The former is so upbeat and happy and bright and the latter is so dark and moody and sad. It'd be a real roller-coaster emotionally, but I'd love to hear what would result from such a meshing.

I won't lie, it's a bit funny  But we're understanding, because even as French people we keep saying we're having trouble with our own language, so we feel it must be REALLY hard for non French people to learn this language.

What is MORE funny, is to hear French people trying to speak English and fail miserably, with a really strong French accent :laugh3:

It is kinda funny, but I tend to find it charming, because often they tend to say things like, "How you say..." while they're trying to find the right word or phrase that fits. How you feel about people learning French is often how I feel about people learning English, because our language can be kind of confusing, too-there's words that sound similar but are spelled differently, words that have multiple meanings, there's silent letters...

I know some Spanish because I studied it in school. I can remember certain words, and if I were to look at a Spanish article I could pick out words I'm familiar with and try and get some slight gist of sorts of what the article is about. But even though I was good at it in school, I'm not at all fluent, and would definitely need a refresher course since it's been a few years since I took that class. And then I know the occasional word or phrase in German or French or such. Beyond that, though, my foreign language skills are pretty dead.

Anywho...Chris speaking in French? Choppy or not, I don't care-that needs to happen a LOT more often . I love it when a man knows the "romantic" languages, so to speak (but I love it when a man can speak multiple languages in general, even if only the basics, because it gives him a "worldly" quality that I find quite attractive).

And a foreign accent on a man is HOT. One of the things I love about Chris is listening to him speak in that charming, adorable British accent of his. I've got a total weakness for that.

I hope you're feeling better, too, Blue Nails. I know it's frustrating and I know how it feels to want to respond back, I totally get that . But to heck with the haters (to put it politely). We here love them, and they have tons of fans the world over who get it :).

Cool!:D

Is it a standard or an alternate tuning?

I played The Scientist and VLV at the gig last night in Chris's honour. There were only a few people there, but they sang along with the 'ohhhh's in Viva. Felt great!:D

Woohoo! That's very cool, Tracie! Yay for the crowd getting into the song.

It was a little rush! Not as big as when fans at a Coldplay show sing, but still fun.:)

I bet! You got a small taste of that :D.

And it's always just fun to see people out there who know and like them and sing along :).

I've met a few fans that way over the years. Some just 'like' a single or two, but I've met a few 'rabid' fans like me.:D

Thanks!:D

yup np..you'll get the hang of it quick..it's easy but great :D

Ah, thanks for the charts. I can't read tab, lol. Chords over words is perfect though.:)

The other day (March 2nd) I tweeted @Xfm because they were asking who are the greatest frontmen of all time. So I said Chris Martin (of course!) and that his birthday was that day. I got a message from the radio guy and he responded he loved Coldplay, and that he would play them later.

So i was listening and he played Charlie Brown! and after explained that Ana (me) from california suggested Chris from Coldplay to be one of the greatest frontmen ever. and he mentioned Chris' Bday.

I was so excited because 1. My name was said in the same sentence as Coldplay on the radio :P 2. My name was said in a British accent to radio listeners of London

yes that may not be much to other people, but it made me so happy :D

^ How cool! :vuvuzela: :vuvuzela:

And funny that the attention of radio listeners in London was drawn to Chris Martin's birthday by a nice Californian girl. That also shows London radio listeners that Coldplay is popular world-wide.

Cool!:D

Wow.. that was very cool.. what a lovely thing to do too.. :D

^I'll spam with with a FB fan page invite, lol. There aren't any Coldplay covers on there because I'm usually too insecure to play them in front of real fans! Silly, I know, but one day I'll get over it.:D

Actually, the page is in my sigy.

And speaking of which, I STILL can't stopp grinning at your 'Coldfinger' avi and sig!:laugh3:

Jonny as Pussy Galore? Shouldn't that be Guy since he's the slut in the band? ;)

Yeah.. maybe! LOL.. but I needed Jonny to be with Chris.. obviously.... LOL.. and thanks.. LOL. I did have fun making it..

Edit : I've seen your facebook page.. and one day, when I am in the states - Lottery win obviously right now  - then I'll pop by and turn up at one of your gigs.. :D
