Maybe, like, double/triple-bag the cakes (if you're putting them in a clear plastic sack or something, so that it's harder for him to see through the sack), and if he or anyone on the train asks, make up some story about some sort of luggage or concert-related thing you're bringing along or whatever? If you use very thin cardboard, you can simply fold it and put it inside your bag... And once you get to the concert, you could attach a stick on each side of it and hold it that way, or... I don't know, you could stick it somewhere :P

It's a great way to wake up! Easier to get a bit more motivated for whatever's going on that day if your favorite music is playing.
