December 3, 200817 yr I hate hearing Coldplay in stores.....it always sounds excessively commercial when it's being used to sell soap products and hi-definition televisions. :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: lol you make me laugh so loud here :laugh3:
December 3, 200817 yr I hate hearing Coldplay in stores.....it always sounds excessively commercial when it's being used to sell soap products and hi-definition televisions. I heard Clocks in CVS once while buying travel-sized shampoo. It was rather depressing, actually :\ But it can be exciting once in a while, I think, when in a different setting :)
December 3, 200817 yr I was walking from one class to another yesterday when I saw a stand where they were giving away free cookies and hot chocolate, i guess because of finals coming up. Anyway, as my friend and I approached it we could hear some music and it turns out they were playing Lost! over a CD player. That really made my morning.
December 3, 200817 yr Random Thought: (occurred to me this is the right place for this) The four seasons of Coldplay= Viva La Vida- Spring Parachutes- Summer A Rush of Blood To The Head- Fall X&Y- Winter Agreed?
December 3, 200817 yr Parachutes is perfect for a rare type of winter's day here - cloudy and somewhat cold but with the sun still shining through and slightly windy. On such a day I listened to High Speed on my iPod, sitting on the pavement to wait for my mum to pick me up from school... perfect
December 3, 200817 yr I heard Clocks in CVS once while buying travel-sized shampoo. It was rather depressing, actually :\ But it can be exciting once in a while, I think, when in a different setting :) I'm a Walgreen pharmacist and Clocks playing on the radio there is the highlight of my day! :D And it happened today. It's nice when you are grumpy at work, and then you hear Jonny's guitar...:nice: .
December 3, 200817 yr I had been told at the local record store that they wouldn't get the Prospekt's March EP, just the deluxe edition <which i didn't want, but was willing to get just to have PM in my hands> So last saturday i decided to go to the mall and check if VLV/PM had arrived. The first thing i hear as soon as i entered??? Viva la vida playing out load!!!! It brought a huge smile to my face 'cause my trip there was completely coldplay related. Then I got to the record store to realize that the stupid clerk lied to me...... PM was there!!!!!!!!! :D Just 3 copies, one of them i now own

It's tough to match them up objectively because we all experience the album's in different ways. but for me... Viva la Vida= Spring X&Y: Summer Parachutes: Fall AROBTTH: Winter
December 3, 200817 yr Viva La Vida: Summer X&Y:Autumn AROBTTH: Spring Parachutes: Winter a matter of taste :)
December 3, 200817 yr Well our lists are in the same order, you just have late winters in Finland. :D LOL
December 3, 200817 yr my brother's facebook status is currently "there's a cold war coming, on the radio i heard...", so of COURSE i had to leave a comment finishing off the verse. it was the only right thing to do. he commented back "ok, ok, keep your pants on" and for me: parachutes: fall AROBTTH: winter VLVOD: spring X&Y: summer
December 3, 200817 yr haha, really? i didn't even really go back to check everyone elses' :P but awesome

December 3, 200817 yr For me its: VLVOD: spring X&Y: summer parachutes: fall AROBTTH: winterThat's it for me too, I think! Though I think AROBTTH could also be fall, but because I first heard it in a winter month, it will forever remind me of that season :nice:
December 4, 200817 yr :) Same here, I first got into Coldplay during winter, and AROBTTH was the album that did it.
December 4, 200817 yr Here here. I just realized that I first heard X&Y in summer, Parachutes that Fall and AROBTTH late december during a curling trip up to michigan. But apart from those associations, I always thought of Parachutes as a chill morning album, while AROBTTH is kind of like bright lights against a Black night sky background...I think it's Politik that did it. Even before I saw live videos, you could almost feel the pulsating strobe lights. With songs like GPASUYF, Green eyes, AROBTTH and especially Amsterdam, it feels like the lights go out as soon as the song ends...and clocks is like flashing christmas lights, but that may just be because I remember listening to it at night while driving by the brightly lit chicago skyline. X&Y on the other hand less like a winter night, and more like a busy party. I think it's the pop/techno feel in white shadows, talk, speed of sound, low and so on...it's a lot easier to dance to than the previous albums...which makes me think of parties, which reminds me of sitting by the open bar, drinking my 17th coke. Sounds like summer to me... I
December 4, 200817 yr That's it for me too, I think! Though I think AROBTTH could also be fall, but because I first heard it in a winter month, it will forever remind me of that season :nice: any wonder we have the same seasons associated with the same albums? :P  interestingly enough, i heard ALL coldplay albums for the first time in the summer (well ok, VLVOD technically in the spring, but really, to me june is a summer month, and AROBTTH i *heard* a lot in the fall of 2003, but i wasn't *listening*). my point is that even though i heard them all in the summer for the first time, they're all pretty distinctly associated with different seasons to me (VLVOD could apply to either summer or spring, though :P)
December 4, 200817 yr ...and clocks is like flashing christmas lights, but that may just be because I remember listening to it at night while driving by the brightly lit chicago skyline. Oh, I might try listening to clocks with all the lights turned off with only the christmas tree flashing away in the corner of the room now :D. I've always had this kind of weird affection for sitting alone in the living room in the dark watching the lights casting weirdly shaped shadows on the wall - and I think listening to clocks in that situation would be just completely epic *sighs* I know, I'm pretty weird, but seeing as it probably won't happen anyway since my family has gone off christmas in recent years, I probably won't be able to do that any time soon anyway.
December 4, 200817 yr AROBTTH fall Parachutes winter VLVOD spring i guess.. and x&y summer. but VLVOD and X&Y are interchangable. i listen to them both in the spring and summer. i just really like parachutes in the winter because it makes me feel all safe and warm and nice inside :D
December 4, 200817 yr Hi If any of u guys want to follow what the online press says about Coldplay I can offer you a pretty good service: http://news.dolphio.hu/reg.php?lang=en It's a web monitoring page, you can define any subject and get the latest news from all around the world. I've created a topic for myself with the keyword 'Coldplay' and it seems to work wery well:) I found it pretty useful. Bye, Alex cool, thanks!
December 4, 200817 yr Man. I'm surprised how many people would associate Parachutes with a cold season. Especially winter. I think it matches Summer because it's mostly acoustic and lazy sounding. Like a hot summer day. All slow.. Floating down a stream on an innertube.. For me, Parachutes ONLY works in the summer.
