Well I agree with the acoustic lazy sound, but I associate that more with colder, sometimes rainy days when you can't go outside but just bundle up and sleep in. Key tracks are sparks, trouble, parachutes (especially), we never change and everything's not lost. I'm also biased because I fell in love with the album around october/november, and the music seemed perfectly suited towards the weather and my life at the time. For me it's the way those songs are performed that remind me of somewhat dreary weather where you curl up inside and listen to sympathetic, mellow coldplay tunes. I see it more like autumn because in some ways the album cools down from warm, upbeat songs like don't panic, shiver, yellow to trouble and we never change. As if it's too cold to play (*edit* I swear I didn't mean to make a pun here!) outside anymore, and things slow down.

"I feel safe, I feel warm..."

"So I wanna live in a wooden house..I wanna live where the sun comes out..."

"In a haze, a stormy haze, I'll be round I'll be lovin you always...always..."

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Hmmm, for me it's:

VLV- summer, definitely

Parachutes- Winter

X&Y- Fall

AROBTTH- Spring

And I officially have the weirdest Coldplay story ever! *clears throat*

Today, for some odd reason, there was one of those people in a character costume

(you know, these creepy things:

jan0706-tiggergetty.jpg

AHHHHHHH!

)

on the street near my school. I guess they were trying to promote some new movie or something, but they were nowhere near a movie theater or anything movie related... :stunned: ANYWAY, as I passed by, the character suddenly hugged me and went "nice shirt!!!"- I was wearing my VLV shirt.

It was terrifying! He just came out of nowhere, hugging me!

and clocks is like flashing christmas lights, but that may just be because I remember listening to it at night while driving by the brightly lit chicago skyline.

My first memories of Clocks are very similar! :D I was driving home every weekday on the highway from the University of Illinois at Chicago. It was getting dark out and Clocks would come on the radio many days.

I know how you feel....

For some reason I'm really scared of ppl dressed up like that.

but I guess it would be fun to go behind them n push them...I'll try it one day

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: I'm sorry, I'm sure that was terrifying, but it's also a hilarious story!!! So a Coldplay fan was hiding behind a big ol' character suit LOL

I had yet another dream last night about seeing Coldplay live at Wembley (I'm not sure how much more of this I can take! :bigcry:), and it was the most vivid dream I've had in a while. Well, it started off as being in Wembley, then the venue shrunk... considerably. And ended up being no bigger then a school sports hall :inquisitive:. For some reason it started off really crappy because I realised I'd forgotten my camera, so I spent the first 5 or so minutes panicking and asking around to find out if I could borrow someone's. Anyway, after failing that, I sat back down and then chris came on and made some sort of opening speech. It was so cool because there can't have been more than 150 people in the theatre at that time and it felt really intimate. Throughout the dream and in between songs he kept stopping to talk and crack jokes, wayyy more often than he does in real life I think.

But anyway about 4 songs in the whole thing started getting weird and they starting playing a 'new' song which basically sounded Coldplay's version of There There by radiohead. And it sounded AWESOME... but somehow, during the song, it turned into this massive faux-shoot-out between the audience and coldplay :P Much like what happens in this Spaced clip...

It was crazy, but it was so awesome (of course, I was running around chasing after Chris most of the time trying to gun him down, but everytime he saw me somehow he would shoot me down before I had a chance ) And this was all happening inside the arena :inquisitive:. Anyway, one of the more epic dreams I've had in the past few months

I can't remember how it ended exactly but after the gun fight we all sort of went back to our seats and enjoyed the rest of the show. And OH YES! I've just remembered, when they were getting ready to play Viva La Vida they brought on this massive school orchestra complete with a conductor. When they started playing though, it sounded terribly out of tune, and chris said 'fuck it' and walked off the stage . several of the kids started crying and thats the last thing I remember. :P

Sorry for the long post, but yeah, weirdest coldplay dream ever.

ahhhh semy, that's a HILARIOUS dream

spaced shootout + coldplay + wembley = most awesome thing ever.

i also had a wembley dream last night (surprise, surprise), but basically all us coldplayers going got VIP treatment and a meet & greet with the band beforehand. we all had matching t-shirts with the butterfly in my sig (made by semy) on them, and when i was hanging out with chris at the pre-concert party, he asked if he could have the shirt, so i gave it to him . and then we all were guaranteed front row and we all lived happily ever after.

i really need to find another passtime besides THINKING ABOUT WEMBLEY.

Ok, so how can be make this dream a reality?!?!?:D:D:D (except the only you hanging with Chris:P)

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: I'm sorry, I'm sure that was terrifying, but it's also a hilarious story!!! So a Coldplay fan was hiding behind a big ol' character suit LOL

It was one of the weirdest experiences of my life :stunned: I had just gotten a drink, too, and at first I thought someone had slipped something into it :P

...It was just some guy in a character suit... promoting a movie... on a random street corner in Washington DC... And hugging Coldplay fans.

:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

Well at least now you've got a funny story to tell, if you're ever caught at a boring party where the conversation has died down...

"So did I ever tell you about the time I got hugged by Tigger....":P

Haha, maybe if I ever meet Coldplay (which will never happen), I'll tell them about it. Just goes to show how wide the fan base is! :P

It wasn't Tigger, actually, it was the mouse/rat thing from this new movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0420238/

(That movie actually has a pretty impressive cast, now that I look at it!)

So, you took ur shirt off & gave it to him :wink3: ?!!

Joking Chels :D

i was actually magically wearing another shirt underneath :P. which is actually what i plan to do at the real-life wembley gig, but not for this reason

my mum really loves LIJ and its on the radio all the time..

and she was dancing around the room to it not too long ago.

i made her stop, despite the fact it was quite amusing.

Ok, so how can be make this dream a reality?!?!?:D:D:D (except the only you hanging with Chris:P)

haha, and it wasn't just me, it was like a busy party with all the coldplayers mingling and the four guys, and it just so happened to be that i fell into a nice conversation with chris :wacky:.

(and i did kiiiinda send in a "question" to the oracle about 70+ coldplayers being at wembley...just so they know that we're going in case they wanna...help us out or something :sneaky:)

the only other thing i remember us talking about was my car, for some reason, and how i drove to uni and back all the time and how long it takes me

I remember right before I saw them on SNL, I had this incredibly realistic dream about meeting them, and I've never been more disappointed than when I woke up and realized it didn't happen!

It wasn't all fantastical and unbelievable, either, I just hung around the SNL stage door until they arrived and I met them and had my picture taken with Chris... It was such a beautiful dream :bigcry: :P

i love this thread! :laugh3:

i had a dream i was in a playground cuddling next to guy

then he and chris went missing, and me will and johnny were trying to find them

but we couldnt... :bigcry:

(and i did kiiiinda send in a "question" to the oracle about 70+ coldplayers being at wembley...just so they know that we're going in case they wanna...help us out or something :sneaky:

EXCELLENT! The thought did cross my mind to suggest someone mention it to the Oracle....but then I felt silly and it went away. Glad you're more proactive than me!:D

Ok I'll actually post a random thought today, rather than just giggle at yours:P. My coworker who'd never heard of Coldplay before I went concert-crazy and told her all my crazy stories, watched the Yahoo Live Set thing (I sent her a link and one of the pics where you can see my hands reaching for some butterflies :nice:) And she had to ask me about Chris's crazy dancing. She was baffled--"does he always do that? Why does he do that??? When I first saw him dancing like that I thought uhoh, but then I heard his voice..." So, yeah I might be able to slowly convert her into a fan:D.

I told her that we as fans, also kinda cringe when he dances like that "in front of strangers." I mean, at a concert we all know he's gonna act like that and we all love it, but when he goes on Jay Leno or some TV thing, I know we're like "Chris man, tone it down! They don't get it!":laugh3:

i had a wonnnnderfull dream last night that i married chris.

probably happens to a lot of people...

but it was the best. dream. ever! :D

and then we all were guaranteed front row and we all lived happily ever after.

With pringles!

:D:dance:
