  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

I just learned yesterday that Matt Bellamy helped produce the piona for Politik.

I like their older 'depressing' songs....it makes me think more.

Yes!

Not like Swallowed in the sea... like a 5th year old kindergarden poem.

You cut me down a tree

And brought it back to me

And that's what made me see

Where I was going wrong...

Actually I like Swallowed in the Sea. It's not by all-time favorite, but I think it's such a sad and beautiful song.

Haha. Man, it's one of my least favourite Coldplay songs ever.

Low is pretty brilliant though.

Ironic that you mention that, 'Low' is actually one of the least favorite Coldplay songs of people on here! :P

I like 'Low'. It has this space-agey edge to it. :)

oh man, "Swallowed In The Sea" is their worst song.

hands down.

I don't thin Swallowed's their worst song.

In my opinion, it's Brothers & Sisters and Daylight.

I dunno why, but I can't stand them for long.

:smug:

Glad someone agrees.

Oh, I forgot on White Shadows.

There are days when I don't dislike it.

But days when I dislike it are far more numerous.

A Ghost.

Speed Of Sound

Gravity

Proo...oh. That was rethorical.

You mean the songs that are my all-time favs from Coldplay?

OoooOOOookay :)

So...We Never Change. Such A Rush. Amsterdam. Proof. Gravity.

Solid Ground. One I Love. &so on

:P

And yours?

Hehehe well I have a lot of favorites. It's heard to say.....:P:D

^ me too. i don't wanna be one of those people who constantly goes on about how shit X&Y is' date=' because i do like it, i really do...just not as much as the old goods. i was just thinking the other day that the lyrics on X&Y...seem to be almost a step down from Rush and Parachutes and all the other old stuff? i don't know. i just prefer the older lyrics, they're kind of...fresher, more original and interesting.[/quote']

exactly how i feel. i dont think X&Y is shit, i just think their older stuff is better, especially lyric-wise. and they make me think more as well.

"swallowed in the sea" is one of my favorites off X&Y! to each their own, and i agree that the first verse isnt brilliant, but i really love it musically and the line "the streets youre walking on, a thousand houses long...". i love that image.

my friend who likes coldplay came up to me today and said "'such a rush' SUCKS!!", but was singing it all day. i have to say, that may just be my least favorite coldplay song, but i have respect and somewhat enjoy every single one of their songs.

i had a word problem on my calculus test today, and i had to answer in a sentence: "amos must walk 409.728 feet to go back to the start." tee hee!

ive become completely obsessed with "the scientist." sheer perfection.

going to watch the toronto concert again before bed!

^I'm listening to Such A Rush right now!

Yesterday we were working w/ partners in French class and asking each other questions from the book. My friend goes, "Ha, Jenika you should answer this one." The question was something like, "Do you have a lot of CDs from your favorite band?" It's funnier in French.

And I get all paranoid when I'm not here because I think, "the day I'm not online is the day they announce Coldplay's new album release date." :P

Mhm, since I bought my first Coldplay vinyl a few days back I can now say... 'Fix you' sounds so much funnier if you put it on fast.

That's probably what I like about it.

I always had the feeling there were quite some people who didn't like Daylight and A Whisper, while those are definitly my favourites (among others).

When I ordered that Codlplay mug I had to use my mum's credit card because I'm too young to have one of my own... And in my efforts to convince her to let me order it I said it could be my birthday present (my bday is in April, but nevermind that) and she's like "Are you sure you'll still like them by then?" I was shocked that she had to ask. I mean, come on! The answer is obvious. I think I'm paying her back the money though so maybe it won't be my birthday present.

Yesterday my dad asked me to make my niece a birthday card. So I was sitting in my room decorating it and stuff and I was listening to X&Y and he comes in during What If and goes, "Let's go get your (Homecoming) dress now." And when he was walking out he was singing along to the song! And then a few minutes later my mom and dad both come in my room during White Shadows and my mom goes, "Is that Coldplay? I LOOOOOVE Coldplay!"

So yeah, my parents like Coldplay! :nice:

^Aww, that's great! My mom loves Coldplay, she loves "Yellow". :D

i went to Sydney yesterday and found an Oxfam shop, which was awesome :D muches of cool stuff, and on this table with MTF and Poverty History shirts, there were these postcards with this picture on them:

justgorgeous-1.jpg

and i must have looked so delighted at the sight of them, the girls working in the shop were like "go on, you can take one you know!" and so i did and i'm going to put it on my wall :nice:
