Random Coldplay thoughts...

In science class we are learning about waves & tides, and the class was discussing about the waves and their crests and troughs. I was humming 'Crests of Waves' in my head in science! :P Oh that and 'X&Y', because of 'you me are floating on a tidal wave...'

I don't know why but I was singing 'High & Dry' in Social studies, and my friend next to me asks 'what's that?' and I tell her it's Radiohead. She's like 'I don't know them', and so I say 'Really? Who hasn't heard of Radiohead?' and so I turn to my other friend in front of me and ask her if she has heard of Radiohead. And she says that she has, and that lately she's been listening to a lot of Coldplay lately! OMG that made me sooo happy! I told her how I am obsessed with Coldplay and that they are my favorite band of all time. Finally a person who loves Coldplay! She says she has Parachutes and AROBTTH, but not X&Y. So I told her I'll burn X&Y for her! :D

Gotta love Coldplay love...haha! :P

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

OMG Today was my first Painting class for the semester and this girl in my class asked if she could turn on the radio. The teacher said yes and the girl put it on this rock/pop station and Talk was on!!! THE BEGINNING TOO! And the whole song played and NO ONE complained!!!! The girl was even singing along!!!! O M G!!!! I was trying to play it cool, I didn't want to flip out in the middle of the art room. But I'm pretty sure my expression was like, :cheesy: .

And then I come home and read that Hall of Fame Article and it said X&Y was a "Bummer." Well, you know what? It wasn't today! :D

And in English we're reading the Shakespeare play "Julius Ceasar" and we we're learning about the things Shakespeare wrote and the Globe Theatre and blah blah. Well, Gwyneth was in that movie "Shakespeare in Love." Usually when I think about Gwyneth my train of thought is like:

Gwyn --> Chris --> Coldplay --> :cheesy:

LOL. I'm hyper because it's been an EXTREMLY good day! :cheesy:

lucky people with good days. bah.

yesterday was an amazing day, first day of second semester (im a second-semester senior!!) and was all around fun and i had "shiver" stuck in my head ll day. then last night i got a letter in the mail saying i was deferred from my saftey school that i really really liked, so that put a big damper on today.

my point is that its funny when you're depressed or down how every song you listen to snaps to fit your situation perfectly. i was listening to "for you", and everything chris was singing spoke directly to what i was feeling.

i didnt really feel better, but that wasnt what i needed. sometimes you need the wallowing time, and coldplay is wonderful for that too (and i mean that in a good way.)

what DID cheer me up last night was the bit of news about coldplay's new album being closer to completion than we previously thought. PLEASE please in the next calendar year? that would make me so SO happy, no matter where i go to college. i hope they try to top AROBTTH, because to me that's sheer perfection, and if you top that, then well. :laugh4:

^nawww.

i was so bored yesterday, i sat down and learned how to write my name in X&Y code.

i've also been watching that behind the scenes of the Talk video thing, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3_Ed-6fAn4) and i've decided i just love the way Jonny speaks. i don't know. it's sweet. :D

"...acting, in the loosest sense of the word." :nice:

aww i agree with the wallowing thing. Coldplay are perfect for when you want to feel better, or for those times when you just don't..wait that sounds stupid. but anyway. their songs are like..life's perfect soundtrack, or something.

and ohh i know, i hope they go more Rush of Blood style for the next album..i agree that Rush is perfection, it's the most beautiful and perfect album in the world in my opinion! :D

^^ my desktop background was my name in baudot color code (the x&y code) for a while. i used to doodle it all the time back when i had time to be bored. you can make it all pretty at this link. its so cool!

i just love coldplay. theyre so perfect for every mood at any time. there will never be a time when i cant find one of their songs to fit my mood. they make me happy just thinking of them.

and i TOTALLY agree, the way jonny talks is lovely. HE is just lovely.

^i know! they're ALL just lovely. Coldplay = the EPITOME of lovely.

omg thankyou for that website!! i did my name by hand, it took me ages and looked like absolute shit :laugh3:

haha, yeah i think the website's pretty cool. try a ruler and precise measurements if you do it by hand again, though. i decorated my notebook with X&Y stuff, and i got it to work well if you use a ruler or graph paper.

im such a geek. :smart: :book2:

^

ooh..my sis is watching the Toronto gig right now, hehe. i can hear it. i've only got like 21 minutes of it on tape, my aunty taped it for me when it was on tv but she got home like half an hour before it ended and only caught 21 minutes, but that's still awesome! :D it comes in right in the middle of Clocks.

if you'll believe it, i haven't even seen all the Toronto footage. :stunned: i was holding off downloading it, thinking oh yeah, don't worry, the DVD will be out soon! don't spoil it by downloading it! but stuff it. i'm gonna get the whole thing right now.

with the Toronto gig, is it just me, or does Guy's bass seem louder and kind of..stand out a bit more than Live 2003?

i don't know. i reckon it does, a bit. i LIKE it :D

oh, the toronto gig is wonderful! im looking into cheap software so i can conver it to MPEG4 format so i can put it on my ipod and therefore TV. im sick of only watching it on the computer. its a HUGE file.

i think musically, toronto is better than live 2003, but artistically and visually, live 2003 is better. i know that has everything to do with the director and nothing to do with the boys, but on that respect i was slightly disappointed.

and i really REALLY want a tour diary.

ohh me too! i LOVE the tour diary on Live 2003. i walk around reciting it a lot of the time. my favourite quote yesterday was the bit where they've just been told it's pouring outside, and Guy goes "I've got a t-shirt on, this and this." and that dude goes, "and that makes you a big man does it?"

OMG THATS MY FAVORITE QUOTE!!!! i never heard anyone else notice it before!

i love that whole thing. everything about it. theyre hilarious. and its so beautifully done, from a directorial perspective.

your avatar is the same pic as my siggy

lol really?! haha i love it!! that guy seems so serious when he says that to Guy..oh it makes me laugh. i could spend all day quoting that diary :D we should so have a thread dedicated to it! everyone could just spam it with pics and quotes and there would be harmony and happiness in the world.

ooh it is too hey, i LOVE that pic..so much. and See You Soon is my favourite song, well one of them, it's too hard to choose an absolute favourite. but See You Soon has touched me more than any other song in the world, i think. so when i found that little pic i was so happy and it makes a perfect avi :nice:

well i've g2g..it was good talking to you! and i'll let you know if i ever make that Tour Diary thread and we can be co-moderators of it! :D

catch you later :nice:

"well the thing about pizza is, it's the thinness of bread which makes a good pizza."

good talking to you as well! must do it again.

YES, you must create that thread! i think itll be one that loses interest for others quickly, but who cares? TOUR DIARY LOVE!! that quote kills me every time. i may watch it tonight, in fact. (the tour diary, i mean).

yes, that's one of the most beautiful coldplay photos ive ever seen, that and the one in my avi. if you didnt guess from my previous comments, i want to become a film director really badly, and ive been into black and white photography for years. its just a wonderful, stunning photo. it seemed to me like it was just asking for the word COLDPLAY to be superimposed across it, so i did it. :)

see you soon is one of my favorites as well! my second-favorite, to be precise. its just SO AMAZING, lyrically and musically. i think its as close to perfection of anything i will ever hear. it makes me cry. the first time i heard it i was like ohaohfoighsghigfiohoiurt, thats EFFING AMAZING. i cant get over it to this day.

hope to talk to you soon! (hah, "see you soon"... :P )

For like, 3 or 4 years I thought the Clocks lyric was, "Curse me! Star of oppurtinity!" And I thought that was so lovely and poetic and astronomical and biblical and mythological (sp?) and that's why I fell in love with Coldplay! Because they're mystical and mythological and etc. But today I found out that it's NOT:

"Curse me! Star of oppurtunity!"

It's

"Curse missed oppurtunities."

Fuck. :dozey:

I guess that makes more sense? Ah well, I still think Coldplay is all of the above. ^ :D

I'm just spamming this thread- but I had a bunch of Coldplay thoughts today!

OK!

On this local commercial promoting this news team this lady's running and one of the reporters goes, "You run at a fast pace, sometimes you run in circles." And I thought of the scientist. And there's this other commercial where they play "Everybody's Happy Nowadays", but not the Ash/Chris Martin version, but I still thought about Chris.

AND:

I was calling my mom afterschool to see when she was going to pick me up and I was on my cell phone and blah blah. Anyway, me and my friends like to make a lot of noise in the background whenever one of us is on the phone.

ANYWAY, one of my friends went, "OH CHRIS MARTIN, FUCK ME!" And I was just like, :o Oh my God! I was on the phone with my MOTHER.

AAAAND!

I watched bits of the toronto concert on youtube (THANKS TWISTEDCLOCKS!!!!!) and I LOVE IT! My eyes were welling up during Speed of Sound where Chris went, "Oh, yes please!" And let the audience sing and you could hear Will clearly! AWWW! He's got a great voice. Anyway I was watching the concert and I was like, "This is why I love them so much!"

:D

OK, sorry I was about to burst! I have to tell these things to SOMEONE! I feel like I did when I first fell in love with Coldplay tonight, for some reason. You understand.

i love the way chris sits in chairs. its soooo adorable!

i rarely sit in chairs the right way, either. some of my teachers arent so cool with that, but whatever.

i love that "yes please" bit too, jenika!! i dont know why, but its so cute.

the toronto concert makes my life! i just need to buy a program so i can watch it on my ipod...

(i have a friend named jenniqua, by the way. and because of the similar name, when i think of you i picture her in my head. but she would NEVER like coldplay! random as hell, i know. sorry. im weird).

Oh I love the "Yes Please!" part! And Yellow was PERFECT. :D

^ I try to get my friends into Coldplay, and it's only been successful twice. My best friend is now just as obsessed as I am (maybe more? :o ) and I burned my other friend X&Y last year. YAY.

omg!!

alyssa your six flags story reminds me of when i was at hershey park, pa. there was a guy there that had a coldplay rocks shirt on, and i went up to him, and i high fived him and was like "amazing taste in music, dude."

and he gave me a high five, and a hug.

xD

yes, i'm a little too crazy. about coldplay. :]

another thing that happened to me was i was at the mall with one of my friends, and her ex boyfriend came along, and there was a huge crowd, and they started screaming at eachother. she just happened to say "how can you be so cold?!" and i was like...

"omg that reminds me of shiver!"

and everyone stared.

and i was like, "it's a good song."

and died.

so yeah!

it happens to everyone...right? :D
