Random Coldplay thoughts...

Featured Replies

no one i know is obsessed as me. nearly everyone likes them and has all 3 albums on their ipod in my school, but im the only obsessed one. i thought my friend was nearly as obsessed as i was for a time, but she just thought i was insane, so i stopped bombarding her with coldplay stuff.

i dont know how they CANT be, because i cant imagine just liking them. i do things pretty intensely, especially loving my favorite band.

sadly, liking coldplay just fits into the connecticut stereotype of private prep-schools: everyone wears abercrombie and fitch or american eagle, everyone has at least one ipod, their own car for their 16th birthday, and everyone listens to alternative acoustic rock, among other things. its good for record sales, i guess, and im glad people appreciate them enough to listen to them etc, but i just get this feeling that theyre not real fans, at least not all of the time. i just dont like that everyone likes them because everyone else does, in the same way that i hate how everyone loves all the crappy songs that are out there now just because theyre popular.

  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

And there's this other commercial where they play "Everybody's Happy Nowadays", but not the Ash/Chris Martin version, but I still thought about Chris.

I saw a commercial with this song today lol. :)

I was at my friend's birthday party yesterday and we listened to AROBTTH and she said "Ah, what I shame, I still don't own it" and I went "But it's yours." And she looked at me really suprised. She thought I lent it to her a few weeks ago but I actually thought I gave it to her because she didn't have any CD to swap for and the Coldplay love needs to be süread. Then she went to give me a huuuge hug and told me I was crazy. :)

Aw, and she has a few really cute Coldplay pictures on her wall (and one of Athlete and she didn't know who they were ).

Oh and then one boy who was there at the party said the music was LAME and then he put the Kooks on. Come on now, how much lamer can you get...

i'm disappointed that Sleeping Sun didn't get into the Triple J Hottest 100  i voted for it anyway :nice:

spam, spam, spam. but i reached 300 posts today! :D

i love Coldplay. and that is all that matters

i haven't played a coldplay track in ages. there was a time i would listen to them any and every chance i got - i'm taking obssessed :freak: but lately i'm into a lot of other music. i'm still a fan, not listening to their music for a while doesn't change that, but i should listen to them more often. everytime i take a coldplay break and go back to them, it revives how much i love the band. which in a way is a good thing!

i realized today that chris martin is a nearly perfect combination of my history teacher and my technology teacher. one had always creepily reminded me of chris in a disturbing way that really scares me, but today i realized my school's tech director looks a lot like an overly-geeky chris.

*shudder*

omg!!

alyssa your six flags story reminds me of when i was at hershey park, pa. there was a guy there that had a coldplay rocks shirt on, and i went up to him, and i high fived him and was like "amazing taste in music, dude."

and he gave me a high five, and a hug.

xD

yes, i'm a little too crazy. about coldplay. :]

You've been to Hershey Park? I love that place! :D

I live an hour away from there.

OH! And also I was watching the Daily 10 on E! tonight and I know this is old news, but they were talking about how Kanye West and Chris were gonna collaborate or work together on Kanye's new album. I just thought the little Coldplay mention was awesome. :)

Speaking of shirts, I wore my yellow and black twisted logic shirt to the dining hall once, and when I was getting food downstairs, some guy saw me and followed around until I went upstairs and sat down with my friends. Then he came over and said he really liked my shirt. I then asked if he was at one of the shows, and he said no, but that he liked my shirt anyway :laugh3:

Coldplay is Gay, but oh by the way you draw very well.:laugh3: What is that?

Today at work was the 3rd day in a row where no Coldplay was played. But at least some Keane was played.;)

okay so this is a more of a angry/sad coldplay moment but on the yearbook the graduates get a couple of lines by there grad picture to put of few lines about themselves and this guy at my school put that he hated coldplay and rambled on about them! it was just so random and maddening that he would put that in the couple of sentences you were allowed to have.. :veryangry2: everyone else put there plans for the future and stuff but he had to put that. people are going to look back and read that in like 20 years.... its a shame

Well, at least in 20 years, people will read it and know who Coldplay is, right?

You'd think he would want to write about himself, and not about a band he doesn't like. Waste of space for a yearbook, in my opinion.

hahaha....i actually didn't realize just how tall chris is...

yeah, i knew that he was tall and all, but just not the measurements and such...

6 foot. 1 inch.

!!!!!!

a whole foot taller than myself :(

eek.

Do you think if Chris kept on growing his hair, it would go really cool Afro like the dude from Wolfmother? Or go more like Michael Bolton??

188...tallest in the band.

at my math exam one question was about a ladder against a wall and another one was about the angle of the sun reflection....:speechless: then i had ladder to the sun in my head the whole day

was in the apple store at the mall today (watching the fix you vid on the cool new video ipod speaker/screen thing they have for sale) and then "clocks" came on really loud over the store's sound system. as i was checking out, the clerk was tapping his foot to it, i was playing the piano part absent-mindedly with my fingers on the counter, and the guy behind me was whistling it.

even though i was in a hurry, i had to stay until it was over. the things i do for coldplay...

^Aww, thats neat, I don't hear Coldplay often in stores. :D

i do semi-often, but its almost always, ALWAYS clocks.

well, speed of sound a lot a year ago when X&Y came out.

the funny thing is, i thought it was ME that was playing clocks (you know how in the apple store someone ALWAYS tests one of the speakers by blaring a song at top volume? well, i was watching the fix you video on a moderate volume, but when clocks started up i was disoriented and embarrassed for a split second that i thought i turned the volume way up by accident, and i got confused about what song i was listening to.)

sorry, im bored, and procrastinating like HELL on a history paper thats due at 730 AM tomorrow.

I've heard Clocks on the radio a couple times, and I think Speed of Sound. :)

^ it seems aus radio are obssessed with coldplay, because i hear them atleast once a day, it's great! and the stores here, in the past week i've heard the scientist, high speed, white shadows, and trouble, clocks, speed of sound. not all on the radio but in stores playing their albums.

pheh. here in america we only hear the singles, unless the store is cool enough to let the employees play whatever they want. usually store music is tuned to the radio or limited to a set CD that is put together by the corporation.

my mom works for Ann Taylor, and a year ago she had a REALLY cool CD in her store with coldplay, jet, keane, the fray, dave matthews, etc on it. it rocked! she loved it. but now theyre back to cheesy old people music, ladies singing lounge music and baaad oldies.
