Here's another reason to envy Gwyneth Paltrow: She just had another baby, and she's slimmer than ever.

"Last time you saw me, I was out to here," the 33-year-old mother of Moses told friends at the Food Bank for New York City's Can-Do Awards dinner Tuesday honoring REM front man Michael Stipe. She put her hands out a foot in front of her - then patted her perfectly flat tummy.

 

The lithe Gwyneth, in black slacks and jacket, sported open-toed heels with a matching dark maroon manicure-pedicure and a freshly highlighted ponytail.

 

"He's so cute, he's so great," Moses' mom gushed while her husband, Coldplay's Chris Martin, posed with Stipe and kissed him on his forehead. "We have to get home soon," Martin told the honoree.

 

When the It Couple had arrived at Chelsea's Pier 60, Martin asked Lowdown, "Could we sneak past?" on their way to an inconspicuous table, just as Stipe was accepting the award for his work on behalf of hunger relief. "Ooh, Michael is giving his speech," Paltrow cooed.

 

Stipe seemed a tad sheepish about all the attention. "I come from a Christian background, and a lot of what I do I don't advertise or boast about," he told Lowdown.

 

Before the program - which featured a musical tribute to Stipe by Patti Smith - he'd paced nervously in a hallway and did some calming deep knee-bends. The crowd included Jimmy Fallon, Helena Christensen, Thom Filicia, a mellowed-out Jann Wenner (just back from Bhutan with Bette Midler) and self-promoting moviemaker Michael Moore, who refused all photo and interview requests, apparently to enhance his air of mystery.

 

Fallon was much more cooperative, getting temporarily blinded by television lights while a charity auction was underway. "I got lost, and while I was back there I bid $40,000 on a big bin of toilet paper," he quipped.

I saw pictures of her from that event and she did look gorgeous! Hardly any make-up, perfect skin, looked about 25 I'd say. Bitch :P

I'm glad that Gwyn and Chris are actually attending events together; after the People photo shoot, does this mean they will walk the red carpet together (yeah, right!)

I hate when people talk like that.....I mean, maybe she's rich, but it's not the only reason.It's hard to look like she does a few days after having second baby even if you're a queen.She's really pretty, it's not only money.Even if you've got a golden palace you have to eat healthy food and move a bit to have such body, hair etc.

mhh ... gwyneth paltrow is a classic natural beauty ... there's no other hollywood actress that is as natural as she is ... and that girl's got style ...

I agree. And I wanna say something else: Look at the pics of Gwyneth's second pregnancy, she didn't gain any weight anyway, so she had no weight to lose afterwards! Of course she gained weight because of the big belly, but her arms and legs still stayed skinny - just because you're pregnant, it doesn't mean that you put on weight! That's different with every woman!

yeah..there's a unwanted weight only if you eat much more than you're suspossed to.

I really dont want to sound argumentative, but I guess what This girl was trying to say is that Gwyn has a lot of help for looking so wonderful, besides her natural beauty and stuff.. I mean, true, you need to eat healthy and do excercise and blah blah blah, but if you dont have the money, how could you do this? :dozey: I mean, not many other mothers can loose weight and look amazing right after to have a child, and the reason is that not other moms have the resources that gwyn and another celebrities have... and I`m not saying is not an effort or something, but it certainly helps to have the money to pay good food and a personal traineer... ;)

I respect Gwynn more than ever; she has always had a lot of class, and now she's with Chris, she exudes happy wife and mother. I love that. She always seem to be with her children, she rarely makes movies anymore, she even defends Chris (I believe it was Vogue magazine a few months ago--commenting on "The Case Against Coldplay" article--she wished bodily harm on the writer).

 

Gwynn is what little girls today should want to be, devoted to her man and her kids.
